Soul Odyssey is a brand new event bringing to you the best in classic artists and bands from the Soul era of the 70's and 80's. Hosted by DJ Greg Edwards & Kid Jensen playing the best Soul, Disco, Boogie and Rare Grooves. The night brings together Bands and acts from the period and the lauch event promises to be a big one.
On Carnival Bank Holiday Saturday August 27th, Soul Odyssey launches in London with an Exclusive Live set from Sister Sledge flying in with a full band from Philadelphia, and joined by three legendary vocal acts including Gwen Dickey from Rose Royce ‘Carwash’ and 2 leading lights of the UK soul scene, Jaki Graham and Kenny Thomas.
With monster Disco and party hits like “We are family” and “” Sister Sledge are a great headline act for the Soul Odyssey. Also hailing from the States, lead singer of Rose Royce, Gwen Dickey performs International hits such as "Car Wash" and "Wishing On A Star".
UK Soul legend Jaki Graham is set to blow away the audience with classic 80's dance tracks including "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love" and "Round and Round". And last but not least, UK soul don, Kenny Thomas hits the stage to perfom hits such as "Outstanding", "Thinking About Your Love", "Best of You" and "Tender Love".
And if four legendary Soul acts are not enough, Soul Odyssey is hosted by ‘Kid’ Jensen and Greg Edwards and finishes off the evening with an After Party awash with good music supplied by guest DJ's including DJ Bigger and Mike Gee, and with the VIP Lounge hosted by Soul Revival bringing back that soulful vibe into the 21st Century.
If you were an old soul boy or girl all roads will be an event not to missed and to indulge in some serious dancing.
