Ramshackle but enjoyable fantasy in a Princess Bride-meets-Time Bandits vein, as a common boy and a wizened witch (Michelle Pfeiffer) chase a fallen star (Clare Danes). It's certainly uneven, but energetic performances and a tireless stream of cameos see it through.
