"prices no different to other expensive pubs in this pocket of Sheps Bush/Hammersmith whatever...
Quiz is funny and atmosphere is fanatstic for sports - esp rugby and football internationals and champions league!!!
Food good quality -Burgers reassuringly expensive... its different as a gastro - but is it a gastro?
Fake needs to find some friends"

"Can't believe these reviews are of the same place that I frequent every week !
The Bird in Hand is well designed with a low key, friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent, albeit expensive as are the drinks. The pub quiz on a Monday is the main attraction for many and although it can be fairly shambolic, it is great fun.
The Bird in Hand is a great place to go to meet up with friends and is a welcome relief from all these ghastly, soul less chain pubs frequenting the area."

"What a load of tosh, I love this place. Its 2 minutes from my house so I am a little biased but the staff are lovely, the food is great value, high quality pub grub (try their grilled vegetable gratin - lush, and their Waldorf salad is god too).
Its lovely and cosy in winter and quieter now the Havelock is open again, but I would definitely recommend it in the evenings. "

"hmmmmmm, this place is a complete shambles! It used to be such a unique traditional pub with a friendly atmosphere full of Irish locals, now its like drinking in an American style mall bar with the most unusual fake atmosphere!!
It has gone through a horrible renovation and the IKEA STLYE furniture is so uncomfortable! The menu is overpriced and plain and the landord/Barman has really hit rock bottom in his ideas, he has obviously spent to much time taking notes in the other terrible gastros in the area.
How ironic that the only positive review comes from his sister (Kate Finnegan) I suppose someone has to keep the family run business a float. TRY THE LOCAL BINGO NIGHT I feel you will get more value and entertainment there!"

""If you want to go to the Havelock but can't because it is too busy and there are no tables, and all you really want to do is get really drunk, this place is passable. It's completely ridiculous inside - two dank smokey rooms, floored by an appalling carpet. On the walls hang ghastly images of a drunken Ireland, including, of course, the picture which says Guinness is good for you. It is a pub desperate for a different clientele which it might get after all its present occupants have either drowned in their own vomit or died of cirrhosis of the liver. So bad, it's occasionally good.""

""The current review of The Bird in Hand is totally out of date. In the last two years this pub has changed and been totally renovated and is now a popular, well-designed local with particularly nice lighting. Best bet foodwise are the burgers and the Irish stew when it's on. The pub quiz with Tom on Monday is really good too!""
