Pete’s bandmate apparently added: "I’ve never met a man who plays like that, let alone a girl."

Amy, 24, is due to kick off her European tour in Berlin on Monday, while 28-year-old Pete was recently in Paris promoting his band’s new album Shotter’s Nation.

Amy recently won the best album gong at the Q Awards for her hit record Back To Black.

Amy’s tour in jeopardy? - Oct 5 2007

Amy Winehouse’s forthcoming tour may be threatened - because the songstress’s husband is due in court.

The singer is apparently planning to cancel some dates next month because they clash with Blake Fielder-Civil’s court date.

Amy’s husband is due in court on November 12 on a GBH charge - which he strongly denies, reports The Sun.

However, Amy is due in Manchester on the same day to play her first UK tour date.

A insider told the paper: "Blake comes first in Amy’s life - everything else comes second, including her career.

"She doesn’t care that she has a gig that night. Nothing is going to stop her being in court with him.

"They plan to spend a week holed up together to prepare for the worst."

The source added that Amy’s dad Mitch is hoping that Mitch won’t receive a jail sentence - because of the effect it will have on Amy.

"Her family are so worried she won’t be able to cope if the worst happens," they explained. "Mitch has said he wanted to get Amy away from Blake in the past - but he knows this would break her heart. We just hope she doesn’t have another breakdown."

Amy hailed as queen of Mobos - Sept 20 2007
Amy Winehouse was the Queen of the Mobos just weeks after her career appeared to be on the brink of collapse.

The singer was crowned Best UK Female at the annual awards ceremony for her critically-hailed album Back To Black.

The gong comes after a tumultuous few months for the 24-year-old star.

After a cocktail of drugs was said to have brought her close to death, Winehouse pulled out of a string of tour dates.

When she quit rehab for a second time, pictures of Winehouse’s dishevelled appearance sparked concern she could kill herself.

Following a holiday with husband Blake Fielder-Civil, the star has been shunning the limelight.

She beat Joss Stone, Jamelia, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Beverley Knight to the Best UK Female Mobo (Music of Black Origin) award.

Winehouse took to the stage in a short, white and black trim frock, but her performance was less than impressive. She looked distracted and sometimes seemed out of time with her band.

Londoner and Mercury Prize winner Dizzee Rascal took Best UK Male for his album Maths And English.

Kanye West scooped two awards - Best Video for Stronger and Best Hip Hop, beating his rival 50 Cent, who pulled out of the awards.

Ne-Yo’s Because of You was named best song.

Vodafone victory for star Amy - 19 2007
Amy Winehouse has been named best female performer at the Vodafone Live Music Awards.

The troubled singer has cancelled almost as many gigs as she has attended over the past year.

But she beat rivals Lily Allen, KT Tunstall and Kate Nash to the best female prize.

Her recent performances include the Glastonbury Festival and the Nationwide Mercury Prize ceremony.

Earlier, Paul Weller hailed Winehouse as a "great role model" despite her well-documented drug problems.

The former Jam star told Radio 1: "She is an amazing, great talent and despite what all the papers say she is a great role model for people.

Biography

Amy Winehouse hails from Osidge Lane, Southgate, although she currently lives in Camden. She is being feted as the new big thing with a voice likened to soul artists of the caliber of American soul queen Erykah Badu.

Amy and her brother Alex were brought up by her mum and grandmother, and fondly remembers ’Growing up in East Finchley was cool.’ She started playing guitar at 12 and listening to jazz. Her acceptance into the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School seemed to spell big things for Amy, although she was expelled at 15, apparently for getting her nose pierced. She carried on her studies at an all girls school in Mill Hill, which she hated as there were no fella’s there.

Amy made appearances with the Youth Jazz Orchestra, produced a demo tape of jazz covers that was picked up by Universal/Island Records, and they signed her almost immediately. She released her album Frank in October 2003 and supported Jamie Callum on his national tour. Amy then went on to be nominated for two Brit Awards, British Female Solo Artist and Best Urban Artist. Not bad for a girl of 20!
