Brangelina to wed in Dominican Republic? - Mar 30 2007
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may have their sights set on a Dominican wedding, according to a friend of the actor.

The actor has been looking into marriage statutes in the Caribbean nation, said George Nader, an art dealer and promoter who helped the Hollywood heartthrob look for real estate on the island last year.

But the actor’s spokeswoman Cindy Guagenti later denied the couple is planning a Dominican wedding.

The star’s friend said: "He asked me by email if I could investigate marriage laws for foreigners - but just that. He didn’t tell me they are coming to marry or when they would do it."

He added he would help the famous couple find a local legal consultant if they decide to get married in the Dominican Republic, which shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti.

OK! magazine has reported that the couple plan to wed in the Dominican Republic, where they stayed last year when Angelina was working on the movie The Good Shepherd.

The couple, who have four children together, would limit the wedding to family, the magazine said, citing an anonymous source.

It would be Angelina’s third marriage and Brad’s second.

Fresh kidnap rumours plague Brangelina - Mar 29 2007
An alleged kidnap plot involving Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their new son Pax Thien is said to have been foiled by the family’s tight security, according to a new US report.

An insider close to the couple’s security team claims that a plot to kidnap Pax upon his arrival in the US in return for a $100 million ransom was planned by "highly skilled operatives with little regard for human life", in an exclusive report featured in Life & Style magazine.

The source told the magazine that further investigation deemed the "meticulously planned" threat "credible and serious".

Having acknowledged that their expanding family is a potential kidnap target, the couple have beefed up security around their US homes.

While a team of five to six security staff reportedly guards the couple’s LA home around the clock, their New Orleans abode, located just one block from the nearest police station, was recently fitted with a $500,000 security system.

Angelina admitted in a recent interview with Newsweek that she’s faced similar threats in the past.

"I won’t say where, or with whom, but some gangsters planned to kidnap me and extort a massive ransom. I was warned at the last minute, and managed to escape, luckily," she told the magazine.

Brangelina’s new gift - Mar 24 2007
They’ve just gained a new son, now Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have decided to give something away - specifically 100,000 dollars.

The couple have donated the sum to help build a medical facility in the Duk County region of Sudan, after becoming aware of the project through its founder John Dau.

A former so-called ’Lost Boy’ of Sudan, Dau’s life story was featured in the acclaimed documentary God Grew Tired Of Us, which Brad executive produced.

The hospital will benefit at least 150,000 of the locals. The superstar pair gave the money via their charitable Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

Biography

Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4 1975 the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand.  Raised by her mother after her parents divorced when she was just a year old, Angelinagre up in New York where she kept snakes and lizards as pets and became entranced by the movies.

Her family moved to LA when Angelina was eleven and she soon began working on her acting career, enrolling in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute where ahe appeared in several productions.  Despite her abilities Angelina was teased during her time at Beverley Hills High School - far from being beautiful and popular she was skinny, with glasses and braces and wore second hand clothes.  At 14 she dropped out of theatre classes, harbouring dreams of becoming a funeral director, and began cutting herself.  Angelina began a rebellious period of her life, moving out of home and in with her boyfriend.

At around the same time she was taken on by Finesse Model Management and took jobs in the US and Europe, she also appeared in several music videos for the likes of Meat Loaf and Lenny Kravitz.  Then, at 16, she returned to acting and rekindled her relationship with her father.  She appeared in several of her brother’s student films before, in 1993 she was offered a role in sci-fi flick Cyborg 2.  Several equally poor productions followed before Angelina landed a role in Hackers, which was a cult hit and threw the actress in the direction of Jonny Lee Miller, whom she would soon marry.

Little known films such as Foxfire and Mojave Moon followed but it was the Golden Globe winning George Wallace that got Angelina noticed and Pushing Tin, which co-starred Billy Bob Thornton and The Bone Collector helped her on her way to global stardom.  However it was her part as messed up teenager Lisa Rowe in Girl, Interrupted which won her her place on the Hollywood walk of fame.  The role won her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress as well as several other accolades.

Action movies Gone In 60 Seconds and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider followed and made sure Angelina was admired the world over by men and women alike.  Meanwhile her personal life became just as fascinating than her on screen performances.  Having divorced Jonny Lee Miller she married Pushing Tin costar Billy Bob Thornton, famously they wore vials of blood around their neck, however in 2003 they also divorced despite having adopted a Cambodian orphan, Maddox.  At the same time she admitted she had had a relationship with a female costar on the set of Foxfire.  Meanwhile she continued with her now much publicised humanitarian work, as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN and her film career, appearing in Alexander and Taking Lies among others.

In 2005 Angelina took a leading role in Mr & Mrs Smith, opposite Brad Pitt.  Although the movie itself was widely panned the burgeoning relationship between Angelina and Brad, who was at the time in the process of splitting from Jennifer Aniston, made sure it was a hit.  The relationship was also a success, in January 2006 Angelina announced that she was pregnant, just months after adopting second child, Ethiopian Zahara, she gave birth to Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.

Angelina has confirmed that she is working on a screen adaptation of Beowulf, A Mighty Heart and Atlas Shrugged.
