Britney Spears
- Profession: Singer
- Place/Date of Birth: McComb, Mississippi, United States, 02 December 2020
Rugged Daimon Shippen has been seen driving the star around, as well as looking after her children - and as with the star’s previous manny, there were rumours that his relationship with Brit was a little more than professional.
But now friends of the bodyguard have told People magazine that while Daimon is amused his newfound fame, he "really wants to focus on his job: taking care of the kids and her".
Daimon has worked for the singer for some time - including in May 2006 when Britney tripped in New York and almost dropped baby Sean Preston.
According to sources close to him, Daimon is funny, softly-spoken and great with kids, and is also "on the quiet side".
Makes a change from some of the other men in her life...
Britney’s mum wants reconciliation - July 3 2007
Britney’s mum Lynne is optimistic she can build bridges with her troubled daughter and repair a growing rift with the star.
"Everything is going to be fine," said Lynne, during a shopping trip in the Spears’ hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. "I’ve got a strong family. Things will be OK."
Brit’s mum, said to be ’heartbroken’ at the rift, also said that "hopefully" her daughter would be joining the family for a get together to celebrate the American Independence Day holiday on July 4.
Lynne spoke to journalists following reports that she had been handed a letter from the star’s lawyers requesting that she stay away from Britney’s sons, one-year-old Sean Preston, and Jayden James, nine months, if she is on any medications that may cause her to be impaired.
Meanwhile, when asked whether she and her mum will make amends, Brit announced: "In time, but who knows what will happen?"
Britney’s mum ’brokenhearted’ - July 2 2007
Britney’s mum, Lynne Spears, is apparently "brokenhearted" after being served some unknown papers by her daughter.
The papers are said to be from a lawyer, although the contents are still confidential.
"She is brokenhearted," a friend of the family told People magazine. "She wants her baby to be OK and to bring her grandkids home to Kentwood and raise them in a normal environment."
The friend adds that Lynne "has cried her heart out over the trouble between her and Britney".
Photographers caught the superstar walking onto the set of her little sister’s television show Zoey 101 and having a confrontation with her mother, before leaving.
The rift between the pair appears to have been building for some time, although when asked what the papers were, Lynne replied: "It’s a love letter. She did not serve me."
Britney has also been insisting she never had a drug or alcohol problem, and was pressurised into going to rehab by her mother, manager (who she’s since sacked) and K-Fed, according to TMZ.com.
No doubt the details of the papers will soon be made available. After all, nothing to do with Britney Spears stays secret for long.
Britney’s new buddy - June 25 2007
Britney Spears may be without a man at the moment, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be lacking company - the singer has apparently bought a parakeet.
The Toxic babe was recently spotted buying one of the birds at a Los Angeles pet store.
Dressed in what look like pyjama shorts and moon boots, with a bandanna and long wavy blonde hair, Brit and a friend picked up the bird from Petco and escorted it from the shop under a pink flowery sheet.

During the early years of her career Britney made millions thanks to merchandising deals and successful hits. But she faced controversy throughout with rumours of plastic surgery and feuds with other stars. Her third album, which saw her take a sexier and more adult turn, was a relative disappointment while her critically panned but box office friendly debut movie Crossroads was a fleeting highlight. Meanwhile her long relationship with Justin Timberlake came to an end in 2002 amid claims that her reputation as a virgin was false and in fact that she had cheated on the N*Sync star?Britney responded by sharing a kiss with idol Madonna on stage at the MTV Awards ? an act which saw the pair criticized more than admired.
The kiss signaled the end of Britney?s pop-childhood and with the release of In The Zone and the hit single Toxic she began building a new fanbase. A drunken Las Vegas wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment after just fifty five hours but, rather than concentrate on her career, Britney continued leaning on the lovelife self destruct button. She, despite advice to the contrary, married dancer, aspiring rapper and all round rat-faced bad boy Kevin Federline in a trailer trash wedding in 2004 and within months announced she was pregnant.
Having given birth to son, Sean Preston, Britney seems to have put her career on hold despite the success of a greatest hits album and the launch of her fragrance, Curious. Meanwhile rumours persist about the state of her marriage to Federline with the press accusing him of taking no interest in his wife and son and of cheating on the singing star.
