Catherine Zeta-Jones offered Charlotte Church a role in movie - Jan 12, 2021
Charlotte Church is "over the moon" after fellow Welsh star Catherine Zeta-Jones offered her a role in her movie. The screen beauty, who is married to Hollywood actor Michael Douglas, had already asked the pop babe to sing the theme song to ’Coming Home’ - about a struggling rugby team - but now also wants her to have a cameo role in the film.
An insider is quoted in the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Catherine sees Charlotte as a younger version of herself. "She thinks she’s incredibly talented." It won’t be Charlotte’s first time on the big-screen. The 19-year-old beauty made her acting debut in the feature film ’I’ll Be There’ in 2003 - but vowed never to make another movie because her performance was so "dreadful". She confessed at the time: "I won’t be doing any more films. I think I was quite dreadful." "I watched it and I thought, ’Stick to singing, girl, stick to singing.’"

Charlotte Church is said to be "sick with worry" after her mum was rushed to hospital following a suspected overdose. Two days after the incident Maria stunned customers at the Robin Hood Pub she runs in Cardiff - by working behind the bar as usual. She reportedly told friends: "I’m fine. The show must go on." Maria also rubbished rumours her marriage was in trouble. One drinker is quoted in Bthe Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "She was amazing. It was something like you’d expect from Peggy Mitchell on ’EastEnders’. "Maria was glammed up to the nines and was smiling and laughing."
Charlotte turned her bedroom into a raunchy love nest - Oct 31, 2020
Charlotte Church has turned her bedroom into a raunchy love nest for lover Gavin Henson. The Welsh songstress has reportedly splashed out on saris and plush cushions to create a Kama Sutra-style room for her and rugby ace Gavin at her new ?500,000 mansion.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The room has a romantic Indian theme - with ornate arches, stained glass windows and colourful handmade saris hanging on the walls. "She’s put a massive wooden bed in the room and it’s covered in huge scattered silk cushions - it’s very exotic."
Meanwhile, the singer shocked stop staff by demanding interest free credit on two white sofas. The star - who is believed to have ?8 million in the bank - allegedly insisted on buying the sofas, worth ?5,500, on credit. Her mum Maria confessed her wealthy daughter could pay for the chairs. She is quoted in The Sun newspaper as saying: "Why not take advantage of a good offer? I think the salesmen thought we were joking at first but I insisted on the credit-free option."

Five years later and Charlotte was making a name for herself at local karaoke competitions, and then...
"I was watching the Richard and Judy show on TV and they said they were looking for talented kids. No-one was around so I phoned up," she says. "The producers said I had to sing down the phone. So I did ’Pie Jesu’ and that was it, I was invited on the show. Mum and Dad were the last to find out!"
This led to even more television performances, as well as high profile concerts at the London Palladium, the Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff Arms Park. "It all went a bit mad!" laughs Charlotte.
Now eighteen Charlotte has become a media icon. A ill advised relationship with ’model’ and all round bad boy Steven Johnson and on going arguments with her mother have put Charlotte very much under public scrutiny, but it has only made her more popular. Charlotte will turn her hand to anything these days, she presented Have I Got News For You? made a guest appearance on a dance track and even starred in a film, I’ll Be There. She is a chat show regular, openly voicing her opinions about fellow stars in a very down to earth way.
She may be one of the richest teenagers in the UK after coming into her fortune on her eighteenth but Charlotte Church is as normal as they come.
