Charlotte - losing her voice? - 03/01/03
According to Michael White, an American opera critic Charlotte Church could be losing her voice.
The critic claims to have spotted deterioration in the Welsh star’s ability to hit those high notes.
Overuse, stress and smoking are all thought to have strained the teenager’s talents.
Julie Kennard, a professor at The Royal Academy of Music agrees and says Charlotte has done too much, too young.

Emotional Charlotte breaks down - 28/11/02
Singer Charlotte Church broke down in tears and refused to fly off on her US tour yesterday amid amazing scenes at Gatwick. The troubled singer had her bags removed from the flight minutes before take off.

Her managers later said she was too ill with flu to travel, and would fly out later for her 15-date tour. But witnesses at Gatwick airport say she was weeping into her mobile "It will be four weeks of hell - I don’t need it, I don’t need the money."

A spokesman for Charlotte’s Los Angeles agent said Charlotte had pulled out of a Christmas lights ceremony in Atlanta tonight, but added: "She will now be flying out in a few days with her mother, who will be looking after her until her tour starts. Charlotte is at her family home recuperating."

The singer has just released her fifth album Prelude.

Bo Charotte! - 19/11/02
Poor Charlotte she’s been getting a lot of stick lately, what with being caught smoking and dating wannabe bad boy rapper Steven Johnsson aka Mystikal.

Charlotte Church has now gone one better and has teamed up with her man/boy/whatever to produce an R’n’B track raunchily titled: Stick It In Cider.

The young songstress is definitely ditching her angel image by working with Mystikal’s band Goldie Lookin’ Chain (GLC). Doubt this is a song that will be sung in front of the Queen, the Pope or the US President.

Charlotte Church ’disappears’ - 28/10/02
Reports that Charlotte Church went missing for three days after celebrating passing her GCSEs have been described as a "fabrication" by the teenager’s spokesman.

The star is said to have vanished for 72 hours after picking up her seven top exam results from Howell’s School for Girls in Cardiff.

Her parents James and Maria were reported to have called in police to search for Charlotte when she failed to return to their mansion after celebrating with friends. But a spokesman for Charlotte last night described the reports as a "fabrication" and said there would be no further comment on the matter.

Charlotte returns to "love rat" - 17/10/02
Whilst she was in the States we reported that her bad boy wannabe DJ boyfriend Steven Johnson was trying to sell details of their relationship. It seems that was not enough to deter Charlotte as when she arrived back home in Cardiff it was Steven’s place she went to and where she’s been ever since.

It seems that things are so bad at home that she is spending all her time at her boyfriends and at her aunt’s, Charlotte was pictured in the press smoking shock horror. Sex, smoking, the saga continues.

Mother knows best - 16/09/02
Charlotte Church has come of age in more ways than one, as the poor girl faces her first bona fide love rat. No sooner had the Cardiff crooner ditched her ’bad boy’ wannabe DJ boyfriend Steven Johnson and left the country to go on tour, when he’s touting lurid details of their relationship to the tabloids.

Only two weeks ago The Sun featured the happy couple on the front page along with the news that Charlotte’s mum was less than amused by her ’bit of rough’ boyfriend.

Biography

Born in Llandaff, Charlotte Church has loved music ever since she can remember. "When I was three-and-a-half, I sang ’Ghostbusters’ with my cousin at a seaside holiday camp in Caernarfon. When we’d finished, she left the stage, but I refused to go, they had to drag me off!"

Five years later and Charlotte was making a name for herself at local karaoke competitions, and then...

"I was watching the Richard and Judy show on TV and they said they were looking for talented kids. No-one was around so I phoned up," she says. "The producers said I had to sing down the phone. So I did ’Pie Jesu’ and that was it, I was invited on the show. Mum and Dad were the last to find out!"

This led to even more television performances, as well as high profile concerts at the London Palladium, the Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff Arms Park. "It all went a bit mad!" laughs Charlotte.

Now eighteen Charlotte has become a media icon. A ill advised relationship with ’model’ and all round bad boy Steven Johnson and on going arguments with her mother have put Charlotte very much under public scrutiny, but it has only made her more popular. Charlotte will turn her hand to anything these days, she presented Have I Got News For You? made a guest appearance on a dance track and even starred in a film, I’ll Be There. She is a chat show regular, openly voicing her opinions about fellow stars in a very down to earth way.

She may be one of the richest teenagers in the UK after coming into her fortune on her eighteenth but Charlotte Church is as normal as they come.
