"She’s trying to stay as fit and healthy as possible in the run-up to the birth. As Gav has such a healthy diet, it makes sense for Charl to eat the same foods."
Charlotte has also been keen to continue exercising regularly.
Maria added: "The Church women tend to get very big during pregnancy, and Charl doesn’t want to pile on the weight.
"She’s decided to take action to avoid sitting around all day. She’s been taking because the dogs for long walks - sometimes up to three times a day.
"The dogs love it - they’ve never been walked so much!
"It’s all too easy to sit around and do nothing all day when you’re pregnant. It can also be an excuse to eat all the things you know will make you fat because you’re going to get big anyway.
"But Charl is determined not to that. Her only craving is for lasagne, and even then she makes sure she only uses organic produce to make it."
Char plans ’big house in the country’ - May 8 2007
Charlotte Church is planning a new life as a lady of the manor, she has revealed.
The 21-year-old star is expecting a baby with rugby player boyfriend Gavin Henson.
They currently share a home in Cardiff but Charlotte told Closer magazine: "We’re definitely planning on moving to the countryside permanently, somewhere between Cardiff and Swansea.
"A big house, maybe four bedrooms, with a big bit of land - I’ve always quite fancied myself as a landowner!
"When I met Gavin he talked about his childhood and how the kids in his village had this beautiful woodland to run round in, and I loved that idea. All I got to do was play in the streets on my bike."
The couple are expecting their first child in September.
They are planning to wed after the baby is born.
In the same interview, Charlotte criticised TV talent show X Factor, joking that she would be the perfect judge to replace Louis Walsh.
"I’ve got enormous respect for Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, but they just don’t know the ins and outs of a voice or music," she said.
"When I’m watching the show I think ’you haven’t got a clue what you’re on about - I should be on there’.
"On the last series, Sharon said about The Unconventionals ’That was so messy, you were all singing in different keys.’ Er, yes, they’re called harmonies."
Charlotte ’won’t marry’ before baby - April 17 2007
Charlotte Church’s mother has insisted that her daughter will not be getting married until after she has given birth.
Church, 21, who is four months pregnant with her boyfriend Gavin Henson’s baby, was rumoured to be preparing to go down the aisle.
But according to the Voice of an Angel star’s mother Maria, her pregnancy has not changed the couple’s plans.
She told Reveal magazine: "Charl is pregnant and all of a sudden the whole world thinks she’s getting married quickly.
"This is 2007, not 1807. She and Gav want to take their time and do it right - not be forced into a wedding.
"I can assure everyone that Charl and Gav are not getting married before the baby comes. Charl certainly won’t walk down the aisle a pregnant bride."
The singer-turned-chat show host is expecting her first child in September.

Five years later and Charlotte was making a name for herself at local karaoke competitions, and then...
"I was watching the Richard and Judy show on TV and they said they were looking for talented kids. No-one was around so I phoned up," she says. "The producers said I had to sing down the phone. So I did ’Pie Jesu’ and that was it, I was invited on the show. Mum and Dad were the last to find out!"
This led to even more television performances, as well as high profile concerts at the London Palladium, the Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff Arms Park. "It all went a bit mad!" laughs Charlotte.
Now eighteen Charlotte has become a media icon. A ill advised relationship with ’model’ and all round bad boy Steven Johnson and on going arguments with her mother have put Charlotte very much under public scrutiny, but it has only made her more popular. Charlotte will turn her hand to anything these days, she presented Have I Got News For You? made a guest appearance on a dance track and even starred in a film, I’ll Be There. She is a chat show regular, openly voicing her opinions about fellow stars in a very down to earth way.
She may be one of the richest teenagers in the UK after coming into her fortune on her eighteenth but Charlotte Church is as normal as they come.
