Chris's potato gaffe - Oct 25 2007
Chris Evans has apologised after fire engines were apparently called to the BBC because he accidentally blew up a microwave by over-cooking a potato.
The cheeky DJ apparently decided to bake a spud just minutes before going on air at 5pm, but the simple task resulted in three fire engines arriving and staff being evacuated, reports the Daily Mirror.
Chris apologised on his Radio 2 show, saying: "How stupid. I'd only chosen a small potato because it was 15 minutes before we went on air. I didn't think it would end up with firemen all over the third floor of the BBC. I'm very sorry."
But Chris only reluctantly admitted he was to blame, first telling his listeners: "I'd like to dedicate this show to Euston fire brigade.
"Someone here, who shall remain nameless, caused them to be called out after they got the timings wrong for cooking a baked potato."
Chris’s wife in freak accident - Aug 5 2007
Chris Evans has revealed that his new wife nearly lost a finger in an accident with an electric whisk.
The Radio 2 host’s wife Natasha Shishmanian apparently needed stitches after the incident, just three weeks after the couple tied the knot.
Chris wrote on his BBC blog: "Last night the new wife nearly became the nine-fingered new wife after she successfully put her hand in the electric whisk and then, for some unknown reason, turned it back on."
He added: "What a sillius billius. Now she’s alright but she’s not here. She’s gone to the seamstress to have the dangly flapping bits sewn back on."
The 41-year-old star also revealed that the smitten pair are barely ever apart.
"It’s not that Tash does everything, it’s just that we do everything together," he admitted. Aw!
Chris and 27-year-old Natasha tied the knot in Guildford last month.
Chris Prepares for Stag? - Aug 10 2007
Chris Evans is reportedly gearing up to go on his stag do - to a "damn fine restaurant".
The DJ is tying the knot with golf writer Natasha Shishmanian next week in Portugal, according to reports.
"I am washed and dressed, I smell OK and the wedding diet is working but it’s all going to be ruined in about three and a half hours from now when I meet up with the ’chaps’," he said on his blog.
"None of this was my idea but a couple of decent pals said they thought I ought to go for it this time.
"What form is this memorable event going to take? A slap up dinner in a damn fine restaurant that’s how. What will go on after that I have no idea, all I do know is that I’m ready to go."
Around 200 guests are expected at the celebration in Portugal.
Chris ’confirms’ Billie wedding - 12 July 2020

The Radio 2 DJ wrote in his blog: "I’m looking forward to dinner with the ex-missus and her hubby-to-be."
It seems sources close to the couple, who have been dating for six months, say they are planning a small ceremony among close friends and family in England’s Cotswolds at the end of this month.
The couple met when they performed together on London’s West End in the play Treats.
Laurence, 28, is the son of actor James Fox.
Billie only finalised her divorce from Chris in June.

At the London-based station his infamous "Round at Chris’ " Saturday morning show attracted a huge cult following and he later took the format to Virgin 1215. A stint on the short-lived BSB Channel, "The Power Station" allowed Chris time to iron out any presenting rough spots, until Channel 4 opted for a different type of early morning show with The BIG Breakfast. Chris dived into the nations mornings in September 1992, spearheading the morning extravaganza alongside Gaby Roslin. From the first sitting, his name became synonymous with the television story of the decade and within weeks The BIG Breakfast topped 2 million viewers. Chris’ years on the show made him a national star.
In 1993, Chris formed his own company called Ginger Productions to formulate a brand new variety show for Saturday nights, ’Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush’. Devised, written and performed by Chris, the ratings peaked at a combined 6 million viewers. News of the totally original format resulted in a global clamour for the rights, which to date have been sold to networks throughout Europe and all over the world including Australia and Brazil.
With Chris at its helm, Ginger Productions fast became one of the major players in entertainment production. Under the Ginger banner, Chris produced and presented a second series of ’Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush’, revitalised BBC Radio One with his Radio One Breakfast Show before bowing out to concentrate on his unique end-of-the-week TV show on Channel 4, TFI Friday. TFI Friday finished on 22nd December 2000 with a show hosted by Elton John. In October ’97, Chris returned to his radio roots to host the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show alongside his former Radio One team.
Then in December, in spectacular fashion and with financial backing, Chris bought Virgin Radio from Richard Branson, whilst the MMC were deliberating on a buy out from another company. The newly formed Ginger Media Group (GMG), headed by Chris Evans, now handled all of the interests of Virgin Radio and Ginger Productions. In March 2000, Ginger Productions was sold to SMG Plc. making them the sole owner of the company. Chris does however continue to present the successful Breakfast Show.
The Ginger one has been a hit with the ladies serending them with extravegent gifts, he is famous for his wild drinking binges, that don’t last for a couple of hours but more like a couple of days. His conquests included Mel Sykes, Mariella Frostrup, on-off lover TV producer Suzi Aplin and a week long fling with another Ginger,Geri Halliwell, which the press dissmissed as a press stunt so that her single could reach number one, well if it was, it worked as she did get to number one.
To the shock of everyone now, he is said to be blissfully happy with 19 year old singer Billie Piper. This is the real thing they keep telling us, well they are planning to move in together in a pad in Chelsea.
