Daniel Craig
- Profession: Actor
- Place/Date of Birth: Chester, 02 March 2020
He comes back to Britain for a funeral following the death of his best friend from his childhood in the English seaside.
The experience sparks flashbacks of his younger years, and of a tragedy which forced him to look for a new life in the US.
Filming begins on the movie, directed by Baillie Walsh, later this month in South Africa and London.
Daniel cast in war epic? - May 17 2007
Daniel Craig will be putting aside his flash Bond gadgets and picking up some more traditional weapons in new World War II film Defiance.
The hunky 007 star will apparently take the lead in the new film, which will be directed by Ed Zwick, reports Screen Daily. Zwick, known for hits like Blood Diamond, will also write and produce.
Based on a true story, the film is said to be an epic about four brothers living in Nazi-occupied Poland.
The foursome flee to the forest with a group of Jews and team up with Russian Resistance fighters.
So far there’s no word on who else is set to star and it’s not known when the film is expected to hit cinemas.
It looks like it’s going to be a busy few months for the Casino Royale star, as he has a host of films in the pipeline. He’s completed shooting His Dark Materials: Northern Lights and The Invasion and is currently working on I, Lucifer. After that, he’ll get to work on Blindness and the much-anticipated Bond 22.
Daniel blasts fan? - April 27 2007
He may have charmed his fans at the box office - but it seems Daniel Craig had a sense of humour failure when one admirer took a snap of his bottom.
The 39-year-old was shopping in London’s Harvey Nichols with his girlfriend producer Satsuki Mitchell, when a fan took a cheeky snap on his camera phone, according to the Daily Mirror.
Far from flattered, the Casino Royale star then turned the air blue with a four letter outburst.
Craig Evans, 24, told the paper: "I thought was going to miss him so I stood by the door - well away from him - and took a picture to show my mates at home.
"But he stormed over and said, ’What the f*** are you doing that for? You’ve got a f****** nerve. Can you delete that? Get the f*** out of my face."
He continued: "I was frightened out of my mind. I told him I was only taking a picture, that I’m a huge James Bond fan.
"After he swore at me I was shocked and disheartened. I said he had no manners using that sort of language. But Daniel said, ’The reason I’m f****** swearing is because I’m f***** off with you’."
Fashion world stirred by Bond - April 2 2007
Daniel Craig has been named Britain’s best-dressed man - and Russell Brand the worst.
Men’s style bible GQ has published its annual list of stylish celebrities.
The new 007 topped the league thanks to his sharp-suited look in Casino Royale.
"No Bond since Sean Connery has worn it better. It works because the 007 uniform seems like an upgrade of what Craig would naturally wear," GQ said.
Tory leader David Cameron was second and Children Of Men star Clive Owen was third, followed by Little Britain’s David Walliams, Jude Law and David Beckham.
Comic Russell Brand was eighth, with GQ saying: "Some can’t stick him but to others he’s British exuberance encapsulated."
The top 50 features Take That (12), Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho (14), Doctor Who’s David Tennant (35), Rod Stewart (39) and Robbie Williams (40).
The magazine also named and shamed Britain’s worst-dressed celebrities.
