Daniel Craig
- Profession: Actor
- Place/Date of Birth: Chester, 02 March 2020
The 37-year-old actor - who will be the first ever blond Bond - beat actor Henry Cavill to the role. Hollywood heartthrobs such as Clive Owen, Colin Farrell and Hugh Jackman were also in the running to step into Bond’s tuxedo for the new movie, ’Casino Royale’. A movie source told The Sun newspaper: "The decision to give Daniel the role was taken earlier this week. It followed a crunch meeting at the weekend. "There was some lively debate between the producers and the directors, but Daniel won out." Film bosses are expected to confirm the news later today.
The star’s mother, Carol, told Liverpool’s Daily Post newspaper the whole family is over the moon Daniel will be the sixth Bond. She said: "Obviously we are thrilled to bits. "It has come at a very good time in his career. He has worked extremely hard all his life and this would be his biggest populist role. It will be life-changing."
Daniel Craig named the next James Bond - Oct 05
Daniel Craig has reportedly been named the next James Bond, just days after reportedly seducing screen beauty Sienna Miller.
The handsome star won the coveted part of the dashing spy after an 18 month search to replace Pierce Brosnan. Earlier this week, it was alleged Daniel - who will be the first blond Bond - had a two-week fling with his ’Layer Cake’ co-star Sienna - which caused her boyfriend Jude Law to dump her.
According to a report in Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, Jude discovered Sienna’s alleged romance when he heard her whisper on the phone: "I love you, Daniel". A friend later tipped him off about the alleged affair. An insider revealed: "Jude didn’t want to believe it at first, especially after all he and Sienna had been through."
However, Sienna has insisted she actually dumped Law three months ago after he admitted sleeping with his children’s nanny. She is quoted in Britain’s The Sun newspaper as saying: "I dumped Jude three months ago. I just could not forgive him for what he did to me."
Meanwhile, Bond bosses are expected to confirm they are hiring Craig as 007 later this week, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Raider regrets - October 04
Daniel Craig regrets appearing in Tomb Raider. The actor, recently connected with Kate Moss, has labelled his appearance in Tomb Raider "the worst mistake I’ve made" in a recent interview. Craig, currently appearing in British gangster flick Layer Cake, told press that the part slowed things down for him but that he thought Angelina Jolie really bore the brunt of the Tomb Raider curse, saying "Angie had it worse, she was in every scene and had to take all the s*** afterwards." Just say what you think Daniel!
