"I don’t want him to leave the country - but at least he now has time to come and see Rent. I’d love it if he came to see me."
She added: "We will hopefully have a very exciting opening night because William Baker, who is Kylie’s stylist, is directing the show.
"I’m so excited, I’m a big, big Kylie fan."
The 33-year-old - who is thought to be dating actor James Lance - also said audiences can expect some saucy scenes.
"There’s a bit of girl on girl action going on," she added. "I’ve got my girlfriend in the show and in one scene I’m a bit of a tart where I then kiss another girl.
"In the space of three minutes I kiss two girls. It’s a bit of a challenge for me because I like boys!"
Denise to Star in Rent - Sept 7 2007
Denise Van Outen has been lined up to star in a new version of Rent in the West End - as a bisexual performance artist.
The TV presenter-turned-actress will play the role of Maureen in the hit musical, which tells the story of a group of artists struggling to survive and battle HIV and Aids in New York.
The 33-year-old, who has appeared as Roxie Hart in West End and Broadway productions of Chicago, will join the cast when the musical opens at the Duke of York’s Theatre in October.
Based on Puccini’s La Boheme, Rent first opened in New York in 1996 and was hailed by the New York Times as a musical that ’dared to take the culture’s temperature and catch its tempo’.
More than 10 years on, the show has been reworked and re-orchestrated by William Baker and Steve Anderson, the creative team behind Kylie Minogue.
The cast includes Siobhan Donaghy as Mimi, Luke Evans as Roger, Oliver Thornton as Mark and Leon Lopez as Collins.
Denise plans boob job? - July 6 2007
Denise Van Outen has revealed that she plans to have a boob job when her chest starts to head south.
The blonde - who recently acted as a judge in reality show Any Dream Will Do? - told Red magazine: "I’m actually really lucky because I’ve got a bust and I’ve never felt the need to have a boob job before.
"But if I have children and they start to sag then yes, I will most probably have something done."
Denise added that she still has some reservations about going under the surgeon’s knife .
She added: "The thought of having massive surgery scares me quite a lot. Also I don’t like it when women all start looking the same."
The 33-year-old, who’s been working in the US, thinks that living in LA puts pressure on people to look good - even Victoria Beckham.
"Will I see her in LA? She’s so thin, I don’t know if I’d know if she’s standing in front of me!" she joked.
"I like Victoria but I just hope she will be OK. If you’re not a very secure person in yourself then LA is the worst place to be. I worry for her a little bit. If you have problems or issues, it’s not the best place to be."
Denise ’Doesn’t Do Diets’ - 1 May 2020
Denise Van Outen has been voted the top bikini body - but her friends insist she has got her fab figure without dieting.
The 31-year-old, who spends time in LA presenting You’re The One That I Want, the US version of Grease Is The Word, trimmed down from a size 12 to a size 8-10 after adopting the healthy lifestyle there.

Denise attended the famous Sylvia Young’s stage school; her schoolmates included Baby Spice, Dani Behr and Martine McCutheon. She’s a press favourite and celebrity since she joined Channel 4’s early show The Big Breakfast in 1995. She is well known for her on-screen chemistry and crazy antics with co-host Johnny Vaughan and the pair realised a single for Comic Relief - a cover of the Kylie & Jason song "Especially For You" in 1998, which made the top ten.
After The Big Breakfast, Denise presented the saucy programme Something For the Weekend, and Record Of The Year. She also starred in the sitcom Babes In The Wood and had roles in the film Love Honour & Obey and Tube Tales.
She famously nicked an ashtray from a royal reception for ’young achievers’, and then returned it with an apologetic note to Buckingham Palace. As well as flashing her bra at Prince Charles’s back during a charity pop concert, she told reporters that she’d only done it to make the pop group Steps laugh at an inappropriate moment.
She dated musician and lead singer in Jamiroquai, Jay Kay for three years. They were engaged and rumoured to be getting married. However, they’ve since split somewhat acrimoniously and she still lives in her bachelor-girl flat in Islington.
Denise’s most recent works includes starring as Roxie Hart in the hit musical "Chicago".
