Geri’s bad luck continues, her Notting Hill home is ransacked - 21/03/01
This has not been a fantastic monthfor Geri, after her confession about her criminal past, her driving ban and the prospect of not being able to enter America again, her Notting Hill home has now been ransacked. Her home was burgled on Sunday night, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson has said "We are investigating a burglary in Notting Hill on 18 March." and confirming it was Geri’s home. The singer returned to her home on Sunday after a weekend away to find it had been ransacked and many of her personal belongings stolen. Ribena and milk had also been thrown around the flat, the culprits took her personal computer as well as a necklace which was once owned by actress Elizabeth Taylor worth an estimated ?20.000. Geri has now moved into a London hotel after the incident, which has no doubt left her afraid to be alone. The flat is part of a Georgian townhouse which has a video camera security system. A neighbour said: "This is the best policed area in London and it’s very rare for people to be burgled."

In the 1990s Geri became one fifth of the worlds biggest girl band and has never looked back. Along with Mel B, Emma, Mel C and Victoria, she scored some of the biggest hits of the decade, made a feature film and raked in the cash through sponsorship deals. But in May ’98 Geri made the shock announcement that she was to leave the band to persue a solo career.
She sold her Spice clothes to raise more than $200,000 for a cancer charity, journeyed to Uganda for Comic Relief, was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations, and even got to sing "Happy Birthday" to the future king of England, Prince Charles.
Nearly a year after her departure from the Spice Girls, Halliwell released her debut solo album, Schizophonic, whose sound is a self-described cross between "Julie Andrews and Johnny Rotten." The album, released on Capitol Records, contained Halliwell’s first single, "Look at Me." which went to number 2 in the charts. She followed up the success of Schizophonic with Scream If You Want To Go Faster in 2001. After going solo, Geri moved to LA, formed an unlikely close relationship with George Michael and told all to the press about her eating disorders after losing an incredible amount of weight and releasing two yoga videos.
Geri is now back in the UK, working on new material and a reality TV show which will follow the format of The Osbournes. She’s also back to her old busty ginger self!
