Gwen Stefani
- Profession: Singer
- Place/Date of Birth: Orange County, California, 03 October 2020
Gwen said of her mission to get thin again: "There aren’t any tricks, it’s simple maths - you put this much food in, you burn that much working out.
The former No Doubt star said the size zero trend "sucks".
But she admitted to an obsession with her weight.
"Clearly, I spend time thinking about it and it’s something I’ve had to deal with in my life. As I get older I try not to focus on it. It’s boring, it’s a waste of life. What I have learned is that whether I’m fatter or thinner, people seem not to mind, they like me either way."
Gwen gets sniffy - Dec 7 2006
Gwen Stefani is taking over another medium, signing up to produce her own perfume.
The scent business is one of the most lucrative for celebrities, with Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton already in on the act.
Gwen’s perfume will be distributed through her L.A.M.B. fashion imprint. "Creating a fragrance is one of the most prestigious things a designer can do," says the singer.
"For me, it’s like another thing you can wear and another thing I can creatively be a part of."
It’s hard to know quite how the star is going to fit her perfume responsibilities into her schedule. She has just given birth to her first child, son
She has a little bit of time, as the scent is not due until next autumn, in time for Christmas 2007. Though it will be targeted at men and women, Gwen reveals: "I’m creating it for myself. It’s like me shrunken into a box."
Gwen set to rejoin No Doubt? - Nov 25 2006
It seems that rock chick Gwen Stefani is sick of being a solo star and now wants to rejoin her old band No Doubt for her next album.
The singer’s second studio album, The Sweet Escape, is due out next month and she goes on tour next year.
She told MTV News: "I don’t think I will make another solo album. I can’t predict anything, but I don’t plan on making one of these solo dance project records, I definitely feel myself going back to No Doubt after this to do a new album."
However the 37-year-old did say she had some tracks left over from her most recent recording session.
"I don’t really know what will happen with those other songs, there’s probably about 10 left over," she said. "I could make an album with them really fast!
"So we’ll see what happens, I mean you can always use them for something at some point or I could just listen to them myself and be greedy."
Gwen’s baby weight struggles - Oct 25 2006
Gwen Stefani has revealed how difficult she found it to drop the baby weight after giving birth to her first child five months ago.
"That’s been really hard," she tells KIIS FM. "But it’s almost gone."
The singer - and notorious fitness fanatic - gave birth to son
Although it’s been tough, the star has shed most of the weight by nursing, exercising every day and eating healthy.
However, she laughs, "I cheat every day at least once!"
Gwen is promoting her new single, Wind It Up, the first since she’s become a mum.
She’s also planning a tour in April.

However, in 1987 Spence committed suicide and Gwen was left to take over as the band’s only vocalist, a role which she juggled with college studies and a romance with Kanal. No Doubt gained a solid following in the local area and when Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Flea recorded a demo for the band it was only a matter of time before they signed a deal.
Although their eponymous debut album and the follow up, The Beacon Street Collection, were seen as something of a failure by their record company, No Doubt’s third try, Tragic Kingdom (recorded without Eric, who had left to become an animator on The Simpsons), became a hit thanks mostly to stand out single Don’t Speak It was at this time that the rest of the band were pushed to the sidelines as the press and public focused increasingly on Gwen who, having split with Tony, was romantically linked with Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale.
Two more albums followed the success of Tragic Kingdom – Return of Saturn and Rock Steady – but it was Gwen the world was interested in as she dueted with rapper Eve, featured on Moby’s Southside and married Gavin in a 2002 ceremony in London. While No Doubt took a break Gwen hooked up with writer Linda Perry and a house-full of collaborators for her debut solo album Love Angel Music Baby, which sold millions on the strength of the fantastic What You Waiting For?
While Gwen’s professional life was on the up – she launched L.A.M.B, her own clothing range and appeared in Martin Scorcese’s The Aviator as silver screen icon Jean Harlow – her personal life seemed to be taking a turn for the worse when it was revealed that her husband had a secret lovechild with tabloid favourite Pearl Lowe (she of the Sadie/Jude wife swapping revelations). However Gwen has vowed to stand by her man and is even talking of starting a family of her own…we just hope parenthood doesn’t stop her wearing those fantastic fairytale outfits in public.
