Kate crowned model of the year - Nov 3 2006
Kate Moss’s comeback from cocaine abuse allegations looked complete today after she was named Model of the Year at the Oscars of the British fashion world.
The 32-year-old supermodel was described as a "fashion icon" by the British Fashion Awards judges last night.
She beat competition from contenders Erin O’Connor and Alek Wek to be named the model who contributed most to the international fashion scene in the past year.
Kate - who is rumoured to be engaged to rocker Pete Doherty - currently appears in 14 advertising campaigns.
Her win comes little more than a year after her career appeared to be in tatters following allegations of cocaine abuse.
A British Fashion Awards spokeswoman said: "Kate Moss is a fashion icon and without a doubt one of the most prolific models in the industry.
"She has now been modelling for over 15 years and remains at the top of her game."
Kate’s recent cover shoots include Vogue, Pop, W and Vanity Fair.
Giles Deacon scooped the prestigious Designer of the Year title at the annual awards, held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Around 400 designers, retailers, media owners and models attended a champagne reception, dinner and post-awards party.
Vivienne Westwood, the doyenne of British fashion, won the Red Carpet Designer award. Her striking gowns have recently been worn by Dita von Teese, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kirsten Dunst.
And b Store, on London’s Savile Row, was named Shop of the Year.
Is Kate pregnant? - Oct 23 2006
Supermodel Kate Moss is rumoured to be pregnant with lover Pete Doherty’s baby.
Pete’s uncle, Phil Michels, has claimed the couple are expecting their first baby together and says they are thrilled at the news.
"I have spoken to Pete twice about the baby and he has confirmed that Kate is pregnant," he told the Sunday Mirror.
He claimed the Babyshambles rocker called him from Italy, where he was touring, to say the 32-year-old model had had a scan.
"They are both delighted and Pete sounded really excited," he added.
Phil says the loved-up couple are now planning to tie the knot.
"That is why they want to get married. Pete told me they want a baby together to cement their marriage," he said.
"I am made up for them. They’re so happy, they love each other. I can’t wait for the wedding - we are just waiting for a date."
Catwalk queen Kate has a four-year-old daughter, Lila Grace, from her relationship with publisher Jefferson Hack.
Pete, 27, has a son, Estile, three, from his romance with DJ Lisa Moorish.
Kate lays down the law? - Oct 16, 2020
It seems supermodel Kate Moss has devised a list of six rules for her lover Pete Doherty to obey.
’Kate’s Commandments’ include stopping his drug-taking, spending two hours a day writing music and poetry, eating properly, getting rid of his "loser friends", no flirting with groupies and calling her three times a day, reports The Daily Star.
The 32-year-old has apparently said that if the Babyshambles crooner doesn’t stick to them, their planned nuptials will be off.
A friend told the tabloid: "Pete is prone to going AWOL. She has warned Pete that if he doesn’t stick to the rules their wedding will be off."

After a series of shoots for teenage magazines, it was Harper’s Bazaar that finally launched her into the international arena. In 1992, she became the Face of Calvin Klein. Moss originally spearheaded the controversial "waif" look which critics claimed encouraged anorexia in impressionable teenagers. The girl from Croydon, who once said she "might’ve been a bank manager" now divides her time between London and LA, where she is often seen at The Viper Rooms, the controversial club owned by her one-time actor boyfriend Johnny Depp.
She has appeared in several notable documentaries about the fashion world and in 1995, released a hard-back book of pictures entitled simply "Kate". Having checked into London’s £300-a-day Priory Clinic in November 1998 suffering from exhaustion, Kate emerged refreshed the following January to announce that she had spent the last decade modelling "drunk". She told The Face magazine, "That’s what you do. You always have champagne before the shows. Always. Even at ten in the morning. It got to the point one time when we were [saying], ’We’re not going out without any champagne’."
Losing the Calvin Klein contract to fellow Brit Lisa Ratliffe in 1999, Kate has now taken on the status of fashion icon. In the May 2000 issue of Vogue, she played muse to a variety of the most cutting edge artists and photographers. In London she is still represented by Storm. Written in 2000
