A friend of the star has claimed she took ecstasy and Rohypnol, which is medically used to treat sufferers of acute insomnia, to "come down" from coke-fuelled highs. Kate, 32, took the egg - normally used as an ornament - on a South African trip in 1998, where she was due to meet the then South African President Nelson Mandela.
Gavin Maselle, a former model booker and a close friend of Kate’s at the time, partied with the catwalk beauty on the trip. He told The Sun newspaper: "She produced Rohypnol and Es out of this Faberge egg. "She took two Rohypnol pills. We then lay in her bed chatting, then she passed out. "Kate travelled the world with that egg."
Maselle also claims Kate indulged in a massive cocaine binge with fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell on the trip. He alleges the two beauties ordered 30 grams of the class A drug for just one night during their stay in Cape Town. He said: "They ordered 30 grams of coke. Kate took me into the bathroom. There was just loads of coke, lines racked up everywhere."
Kate Moss is ?4 million richer - Feb 27, 2020
Kate Moss is ?4 million richer since being exposed as a cocaine user. Before pictures of the supermodel snorting the Class A drug were published last year, the supermodel was earning ?5.75 million a year. Now, six months later, she could eventually rake in ?9.4 million - after landing deals with Longchamps, Bulgari and Virgin mobile. The 32-year-old is also currently in talks with US label Calvin Klein and if she signs the deal it will increase her earnings by an estimated ?1.5 million. Moss is also set to be reunited with top fashion house Burberry, which ended their association with her following the drug revelations.
The model lost several lucrative contracts, including deals with Hennes and Chanel, after pictures of her snorting cocaine were published last year. Moss fled to the US in the wake of the scandal, checking herself into a rehab clinic in Arizona, while police in launched an investigation into the claims. She returned to be quizzed by police earlier this years and will find out if she is to face charges for possession of a Class A drug later this week.

After a series of shoots for teenage magazines, it was Harper’s Bazaar that finally launched her into the international arena. In 1992, she became the Face of Calvin Klein. Moss originally spearheaded the controversial "waif" look which critics claimed encouraged anorexia in impressionable teenagers. The girl from Croydon, who once said she "might’ve been a bank manager" now divides her time between London and LA, where she is often seen at The Viper Rooms, the controversial club owned by her one-time actor boyfriend Johnny Depp.
She has appeared in several notable documentaries about the fashion world and in 1995, released a hard-back book of pictures entitled simply "Kate". Having checked into London’s £300-a-day Priory Clinic in November 1998 suffering from exhaustion, Kate emerged refreshed the following January to announce that she had spent the last decade modelling "drunk". She told The Face magazine, "That’s what you do. You always have champagne before the shows. Always. Even at ten in the morning. It got to the point one time when we were [saying], ’We’re not going out without any champagne’."
Losing the Calvin Klein contract to fellow Brit Lisa Ratliffe in 1999, Kate has now taken on the status of fashion icon. In the May 2000 issue of Vogue, she played muse to a variety of the most cutting edge artists and photographers. In London she is still represented by Storm. Written in 2000
