Katie Holmes could earn up to $33 million for being Tom Cruise’s wife. The massive sum has been revealed in the pre-nuptial agreement signed by the former ’Dawson’s Creek’ actress and the Hollywood actor. According to the legal document, Katie is entitled to a set figure of $3 million a year and up to $33 million for the total period of time she spends as Mrs Cruise.

However, if their nuptials last longer than 11 years, California’s community property law will entitle the brunette star - who gave birth to Tom’s baby daughter, Suri, two months ago - to half of Tom’s entire fortune. The new parents are set to tie the knot later this year, and rumours have circulated that Katie is desperate to marry the actor so she would be able to afford to fight him for custody if they ever split.

A source told Newsweek magazine: "If she walks now, Tom will fight her for custody of Suri and Katie can’t outlast him in court. She knows she needs to marry him to get the money to fight him for custody, if it comes to that."

Katie Holmes has reportedly taken her baby and gone to stay with her parents after and alleged bust-up with fiance Tom Cruise. The ’Batman Begins’ actress is said to be exasperated with the actor’s refusals to visit her parents in Ohio, and finally introduce their 5-week-old daughter, Suri, to them.

According to reports, the 27-year-old brunette has now gone to Ohio by herself and taken the couple’s baby with her. It has been alleged that 43-year-old Tom has a strained relationship with Katie’s parents after her father Martin organised the couple’s pre-nuptial agreement. Martin, a devout Catholic, has also previously spoken out to condemn his future son-in-law’s Scientology beliefs. A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "He told Katie he wasn’t going, considering the bad relationship between him and her family. Katie was happy he said that because she’d been afraid to admit she didn’t want him to go."

Katie’s spokesmen have now denied the row and insist the Hollywood actor - who has a pilot’s licence - is even set to fly his family to Ohio himself.

According to The Sun newspaper, friends say the actress breaks down and cries and seems "emotional and very tired" since she and fiance Tom Cruise welcomed their baby girl last month. She has also been spotted looking red-eyed at the plush Beverly Hills mansion’she shares with the ’Mission: Impossible III’ actor, who last year slammed Brooke Shields for admitting taking anti-depressants for post-natal depression. One friend is quoted in The Sun newspaper as saying: "Katie told pals it’s natural for new mums to experience strong emotions."

Meanwhile, Katie isn’t wasting time getting back into shape - she has already signed up for a fitness programme so she’s back to her pre-baby weight on her wedding day. The ’Batman Begins’ beauty has reportedly met with Sue Fleming, the owner of Buff Brides, a company that specialises in getting women toned for their nuptials.
