Michelle seeks new love? - Mar 28 2007
The Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry is apparently looking for love again - and it seems she wants her Mr Right to be a celebrity.
The blonde, who suffered a miscarriage and split up with her Apprentice co-star Syed after appearing on the reality TV show, told Closer magazine she's ready to move on.
"It's easier to be with someone famous," said the 28-year-old. "They're not interested in your fame - they've got their own."
However, Michelle insisted she wants her love life to be more low-key in the future.
She started dating Syed during the show and after they split she hooked up with a mystery man whose name she refused to reveal. They have now broken up, but it seems Michelle enjoyed having a relationship outside of the limelight.
"I learnt my lesson with Syed. I don't want my love life everywhere," she said.
And she admitted her romance with him might have been a bad move.
"I have no regrets, but I'd do a few things differently if I could turn the clocks back. And I probably wouldn't have got involved with Syed!"
Michelle: I was a commodity - Mar 7 2007
The Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry has revealed she felt like "a commodity" after appearing on the show.
The blonde’s private life was splashed across the headlines when she fell pregnant with fellow contestant Syed Ahmed’s baby - and later suffered a miscarriage.
"There were all these rumours flying around me, including one that Sir Alan was furious about the baby and had put me on gardening leave. That simply wasn’t true. But there was no escaping the fact that I was public property," she says.
"I became a commodity and I wasn’t prepared for that. But it’s brought me a lot closer to my family."
Michelle also insists that although she later parted company with Sir Alan Sugar and his company, it was totally amicable.
"I left on really good terms. I wasn’t paid off in any shape or form. There was no ill feeling. It was a very straightforward departure," she says.
Meanwhile, she admits to being single again after a short relationship with a man "in the public eye", about whom she remains tight-lipped.
She laughs: "He was never going to sell me out and I was never going to sell him out. And no, it’s not Alan Sugar!"
Michelle speaks of baby heartbreak - Oct 3, 2020
Michelle Dewberry has told of her heartbreak at losing her baby.
The Apprentice winner was three months pregnant by fellow contestant Syed Ahmed when she miscarried.
She told Hello! magazine she was left "devastated" by the loss.
"When I lost the little one I didn’t want to do anything. While a child hadn’t been part of my plan, it had become my plan and part of my future. But suddenly it was all snatched away. It was a tough time," she said.
The 26-year-old suffered a miscarriage while in a work meeting.
"I was devastated. I was really frightened and lonely and wanted my mum," she said.
"It hit me really hard - I didn’t want to go out or talk to anyone. I didn’t even want to have a shower or brush my hair.
"It was a hard time and I still get sad about it now. People know me from television as this career-driven person but at the end of the day I’m human. I’m a woman. I had my child inside me and I lost it."
She has since split from Syed and said it was "questionable" whether their relationship could ever have worked out.

However rather than letting the setbacks of her family get her down Michelle worked her way up through the employment ranks, eventually becoming a global telecoms project manager working for herself. Despite earning £100,000 a year she chose to enter BBC’s The Apprentice, to compete with fellow go-getters for a place working under Sir Alan Sugar.
Michelle beat off competition from the likes of Ruth Badger and Syed Ahmed, with whom she had a short fling, to take the position of Sir Alan’s apprentice, working for his latest company Xenon Green. However, the press has reported that there is now a rift between Michelle and Sir Alan following the revelation that she was pregnant by Syed - a pregnancy that unfortunately ended in miscarriage.
