Naomi tells of drugs battle - Mar 1 2007
Naomi Campbell has spoken about her battle with cocaine addiction, revealing how she was first offered the drug at 24.
Five years later she ended up in rehab and now attends daily Narcotics Anonymous meetings wherever she is in the world in a bid to stay clean.
"I was at a concert in a European country and I was offered cocaine," the supermodel told GQ magazine. "It made me feel invincible. Like I could conquer the world.
"I was just completely over-confident, but it’s all a misconception because when you wake up the next day it’s all gone and you feel awful. And the more you take drugs, the more you want. And that’s how you become an addict."
But the 36-year-old was defiant when told her drug-taking was against the law.
"Yes, so go get the drug-dealers, not the takers. Drug-taking has been going on for centuries and everybody does it," she said.
The Streatham-born beauty also spoke frankly about close friend Kate Moss’s drug problems.
"She is hurting herself and when it’s exposed she doesn’t have the space or time to help herself because everyone is looking at her. It’s hard."
Elsewhere in the interview with former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan, Naomi weighed into the size zero debate and said the decision by Spanish fashion bosses to ban skinny models from the catwalk was "ridiculous".
Naomi to get real? - Feb 28 2007
Naomi Campbell looks set to give viewers the chance to find out what she’s really like to work for if a proposed new MTV reality show gets off the ground.
The temperamental supermodel has reportedly been approached to star in a reality show which will follow her search for a new personal assistant.
A source is quoted as saying: "Naomi is famous for her spats with staff, so the idea is to try to have some fun and capitalise on the situation. Plus, it’s TV work, which Naomi hopes will lead to acting jobs."
Let’s hope that the 37-year-old finishes her anger management classes before she starts filming.
Her last six assistants have quit, allegedly due to her temper, with two previous assistants accusing the model of assault and another claiming she was subjected to physical and emotional abuse.
The source added: "Naomi is extremely demanding and is suspicious of new people before she trusts them."
Naomi Campbell ditches agency - Feb 24 2007
When fiery supermodel Naomi Campbell decides to do something - this time quitting Premier Models, the agency that made her famous - it is a brave soul who would stand in her way.
The 36-year-old has signed for the huge US agency, IMG, but Premier insists there are no hard feelings.
"We’ve had a happy 17-year relationship with Naomi and we wish her all the best," a spokesman said.
But according to the Sun, the agency is hurt at being ditched after supporting Naomi through her recent drink and temper scandals.
"We’re gobsmacked," an insider told the paper. "Premier has helped Naomi find fame and fortune and now she walks out on us."
The Streatham-born model is thought to have chosen the move because IMG could provide broader worldwide coverage.

She was raised by her grandparents since her mother, the ambitious Valerie, was making her way around the world with an exotic dance troupe. At 13, precocious Naomi started at the Italia Conti stage school. Two years later she was ’discovered’ in Covent Garden by a modelling scout.
Recently, she has been seeking anger therapy - her American agency fired her on the grounds that she was ’unbearable’ and published the following statement: ’No amount of money or prestige could further justify the abuse she has imposed on our staff and clients.’ She recently pleaded guilty to assaulting her assistant with the mobile phone she normally keeps clamped to her ear. Naomi had a top 10 hit with Babywoman in Japan and has a reputation for being always late.
She has been romanced by a string of men including Mike Tyson, Robert De Niro, Joaquin Cortes and was rumoured to have had a fling with Joseph Fiennes. She is currently dating Italian millionaire Flavio Briatore.
As well as modelling and a stab at a music career she has also penned a novel entitled Swan (1995) and has appeared in the film Pret-a-Porter, she also appeared in an episode of Absolutely Fabulous and once was a pupil in Grange Hill. Naomi has also just launched her own perfume. She also has an apartment in Chelsea. (written 2001)
