"I know there’s a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues."
Hilton co-stars with Paul Sorvino and Alexa Vega in Repo! The Genetic Opera, a horror rock movie about organ harvesting.
Meanwhile, Hilton says she is planning to add eco-friendly touches to her new home in Beverly Hills, California.
"I just bought the house and haven’t been able to work on it yet," she says. "But I intend to."
Paris Splashes Out on New Mansion - Sept 10 2007
Paris Hilton has reportedly splashed out a cool 5.9 million dollars on a plush new pad in Beverly Hills.
People.com reports that the 26-year-old hotel heiress has brought the 7,000 square foot mansion, which sports five bedrooms and five bathrooms, for its private setting.
The house also has a fitness room which the star apparently intends to convert into a shoe closet, her uncle, real estate agent Mauricio Umansky of Hilton & Hyland, said.
He also said Paris looked at more than a dozen properties before settling on the Mediterranean-style house, which also offers shared tennis courts.
Following her release from prison back in June, blonde Paris has been renting a beach house in the trendy Los Angeles resort of Malibu.
However, the Simple Life star has yet to move into her new pad and is currently in Toronto at the city’s annual film festival.
Paris Launches Clothing Range - Aug 17 2007
Paris Hilton has unveiled her namesake clothing line.
The 26-year-old American heiress, author, singer, perfume designer and reality TV star met a crowd of fans at the Los Angeles event.
"It’s a dream come true to have my own clothing line," she said, wearing a gold sequinned mini-dress. "It’s just Paris style: fun, bright and flashy."
The collection, which the socialite described as "really comfortable" and "really affordable", includes shoes, T-shirts and jeans.
Paris said she spent a year submitting and approving designs.
"It’s just from my closet to their closets," she said. "I’m just excited about it and everyone really loves it."
Additional pieces will be released next month, she said.
The heiress also discussed other matters in her life: her pregnant friend, Nicole Richie ("She’s going to be a great mom," Paris said), and the pending sale of her Hollywood Hills home.
"I’m going to miss my house because I love it. I really designed it to be my perfect taste," she said. "But too many people know where I live and I’d rather be in a gated community."
Paris sings a new tune - July 31 2007
Her ’Simple Life’ may have come to an end, but Paris Hilton’s screen status won’t be disappearing just yet, as she has just landed a starring role in a movie.
The hotel heiress will be singing and acting as she plays the privileged daughter of Paul Sorvino in Repo! The Genetic Opera - a futuristic musical thriller set in the year 2056, says Variety.
And though Paris was hardly impressive on the big screen during her previous efforts, House Of Wax and Raising Helen, Repo! director Darren Lynn Bousman is certain the ex-con is the right choice as the leading lady.
"I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role - Paris came in and owned it. She is this role," he said to Variety.
Producer Carl Mazzocone from Twisted Pictures added: "We saw many actresses for the role, and Paris sang it better than all of them."

She might be set to inherit an estimated $20m but that hasn’t stopped Paris turning her hand to a variety of ’jobs’ including TV star ? on The Simple Life, in which ex friend Nicole also starred ? movie star (with cameo appearances in Zoolander and The Cat in The Hat followed by a starring role in House of Wax), writer, albeit of her own autobiography, and model. These extra jobs are thought to have netted her around an extra $6m, a tidy sum which no doubt more than makes up for the ridicule Paris faces daily.
More recently Paris has get in on the music industry, founding Heiress Records on which she will produce her own debut record ? first single ’Screwed’ has already been leaked and, naturally, slated. She has also hit the headlines for becoming engaged to fellow heir Paris Latsis with whom she is regularly seen on the LA and New York party scene.
