Paris Hilton
- Profession: Hotel heiress
- Place/Date of Birth: New York City, 17 February 2021
She revealed she wanted to cut down on her "superficial" life of partying and use her fame to create a halfway house for her fellow inmates and to support children’s, breast cancer and multiple sclerosis charities.
But it seems that her new abode may not be that much quieter. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne recently sold their Beverly Hills mansion to singer Christina Aguilera, partly because they wanted to live somewhere more peaceful.
Paris tells of prison trauma - June 28 2007
Paris Hilton has said that being jailed was a "traumatic experience" which saw her curled up in the foetal position crying hysterically.
But the 26-year-old socialite told CNN’s Larry King that she believed God made "everything happen for a reason" and that her time behind bars had changed her.
The hotel heiress said she wanted to cut down on her "superficial" life of partying and use her fame to create a halfway house for her fellow inmates and to support children’s, breast cancer and multiple sclerosis charities.
Paris was released from her Californian prison cell after serving 23 days of a 45-day sentence for a probation violation.
She told King that being strip-searched was "the most humiliating experience of my life" and said her time inside was a "new beginning" for her.
"It was a journey to figure out myself and who I am and what I want to do. There’s so much more to me than what people think," she said.
She said partying would no longer be the "mainstay" of her life.
She also said when she was released it was "one of the happiest days of my life".
"It’s hard to even describe," she said.
"It was so exciting. It was just pandemonium, and then as soon as I saw my mum I just ran to her to go give her a hug."
Paris, who has said she had found God, paused when asked what her favourite bible passage was before she said: "Mmm... I don’t have a favourite part."
Paris talks about jail time - June 27 2007
Paris Hilton has opened up about her relief that she is out of the slammer.
The society heiress served 23 days of a 45-day sentence for a probation violation but confessed that she didn’t cope very well and found it hard to sleep behind bars.
"I was basically in the foetal position, basically in hysterics," she told People magazine.
She added that the other inmates were very kind to her.
"All of the inmates were very supportive. There were girls next to me. We could talk through the vents and they were just really sweet," she admitted.
And the socialite insisted that she has changed after her time inside.
She said of those who doubt her: "They’re wrong and they don’t know me. I’m a good person. I’m a compassionate person. I have a big heart. I’m sincere, and they’ll see."
Fresh from getting some new hair extensions the 26-year-old added: "Just being able to hug my mom felt so great, and I really needed it ’cause I haven’t had a hug in a long time."
God can wait - I need hair extensions - June 27 2007
Paris Hilton got out of jail, then immediately got back to... well, being Paris Hilton, summoning a hair salon van and, by her mere presence, creating a huge traffic jam that maddened the neighbours.
It appeared that the socialite’s plans to serve God, perhaps by creating a halfway house for former ex-convicts, would have to wait at least a day as she readjusted to the simple life of fame and celebrity.

She might be set to inherit an estimated $20m but that hasn’t stopped Paris turning her hand to a variety of ’jobs’ including TV star ? on The Simple Life, in which ex friend Nicole also starred ? movie star (with cameo appearances in Zoolander and The Cat in The Hat followed by a starring role in House of Wax), writer, albeit of her own autobiography, and model. These extra jobs are thought to have netted her around an extra $6m, a tidy sum which no doubt more than makes up for the ridicule Paris faces daily.
More recently Paris has get in on the music industry, founding Heiress Records on which she will produce her own debut record ? first single ’Screwed’ has already been leaked and, naturally, slated. She has also hit the headlines for becoming engaged to fellow heir Paris Latsis with whom she is regularly seen on the LA and New York party scene.
