Romance for Pete and Courtney? - Oct 30 2007
Romance is apparently brewing for Pete Doherty and Courtney Love.
The duo are close pals and now the Babyshambles frontman is hoping their friendship could blossom into a relationship, reports the Daily Star.
"They’ve been in touch on and off over the past couple of years and she contacted him recently to tell him how proud she was of his successful stint in rehab," a source said.
"He was bowled over - smitten in fact. Pete thinks she’s a sex symbol and icon after going through so much herself.
"He hopes to spend a lot more time with her over the next few months and even says he wants new experiences with her.
"Pete hopes to play at the MTV Europe Awards later this week and says he wants Courtney by his side in Munich. He is also excited about her views on the forthcoming Babyshambles UK tour."
Pete has recently spoken out about how his life has changed since he left the Clouds clinic.
"It’s been a nightmare, murder," he said. "But I’ve turned a corner and I think I’ve got through it. I’m clean, it’s a new life and I feel great."
Pete back in court - Oct 26 2007
Controversial singer Pete Doherty faces a possible jail sentence for drug and motoring offences after a string of arrests and warnings this year.
Pete, 28, was arrested in High Street, Kensington, west London, in May and subsequently pleaded guilty to driving illegally while in possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis.
He was arrested again in August over allegations that he had broken bail conditions by possessing drugs at Staffordshire’s V Festival, where his band had played hours earlier.
But he walked free on a technicality when police failed to bring him before the courts within a 24-hour legal timeframe.
A fortnight earlier, the musician had been warned to kick his drug habit or face a prison term.
Pete was granted extra time earlier this month for an aftercare drugs rehabilitation plan ahead of Friday’s appearance at West London Magistrates’ Court, his lawyer Sean Curran said.
District Judge Davinder Lachhar accepted the application for adjournment on hearing that Doherty had tested negative for drugs throughout his six-week residential drugs treatment and wanted to "give himself a chance" to recover, Mr Curran added.
Judge Lachhar has said Doherty could face jail, subject to pre-sentence reports.
It was Judge Lachhar who, after Doherty kept a court waiting for more than two hours, threatened to issue a warrant for his arrest in July.
But the troubled star eventually arrived moments later, looking slightly dishevelled in his trademark trilby hat and open-necked black shirt, before pleading guilty to the six charges.
Judge frees Pete of drug treatment order - Oct 24 2007
Pete Doherty emerged from court in triumph after a judge removed the remaining term of a drug treatment order.
The Babyshambles frontman appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court in east London today (Wednesday) for a review of the order.
District Judge Jane McIvor told the singer she was going to revoke six months of the order after being convinced by experts.
She told him: "I wish you well."
The judge told the court Doherty had already been supervised over 18 months and that she was going to revoke the last six months of supervision.
Telling him that it wasn’t the end, but the beginning she added: "You must be pleased."

A long and drawn out battle with drugs, an especially fiery relationship with Croydon’s favourite daughter and any number of bust ups and arrests has made the singer/songwriter one of Britain’s most recognisable faces (all be it a screwed up, sweaty zombie face).
Born on March 12 1979 in Hexham, Northumberland and living at various times in Liverpool, Shepherd’s Bush, Coventry, Dorset, Cyprus and Russia, Pete Doherty first came to the public’s attention as one half of the singing songwriting duo who fronted Britain’s must see band, The Libertines, who kick started the country’s new garage rock scene in 2002/03.
Debauched backstage shenanigans and frantic but brilliant shows saw The Libertines hit the headlines time and time again and their debut album, Up The Bracket, shot up the charts. However, the band’s success was to be short lived and numerous problems, between Pete and the rest of the band (specifically with best friend Carl Barat - the pair met when they became flatmates in Stoke Newington) saw them part ways but not before Pete hit the headlines for drink and drug problems which caused him to steal from his bandmates to feed his habit.
It was around this time that Lisa Moorish gave birth to Doherty’s child, Astile but, rather than settling down Pete carried on taking heroin, selling his ’My Drug Hell’ stories to any and every tabloid to pay for his out of control habit before being put in to several rehab clinics (including a Thai monastery), none of which have changed his ways.
Nonetheless he has managed to forge a career on his own, first working with Wolfman on For Lovers then forming Babyshambles, initially as a way to make money for.you guessed it! Now trying to get clean with the aid of Naltroxene after an arrest for assault, which resulted in some jail time as well as a curfew and constant supervision Pete is reportedly set to marry supermodel Kate Moss.
