It seemed unlikely that Chantelle Houghton’s relationship with popstar Preston would really last when the dup began flirting on celebrity Big Brother earlier this year. She was an out of work Paris Hilton lookalike, he was the lead singer of an on the rise indie band with a long term girlfriend.

However, Chantelle and Preston have proved cynics wrong by getting hitched in a perfectly ordinary wedding in Mayfair, London. Rather than a star studded affair that you might expect from the fame hungry pair they chose to keep paparazzi and fans at bay with a number of misleading stories and curtains drawn at the lavish Dartmouth House. Chantelle’s dress was made by the same designer who created Princess Di’s wedding gown and she dyed her trademark Hilton-esque locks a more subtle brown.

It was revealed last night that Chantelle Houghton and Samuel Preston are engaged to be married. Speaking at the New Woman Beauty Awards last night, Chantelle said that Preston’s proposal was ’unexpected’ and that she was overjoyed.

Last year Jordan and Peter Andre tied the knot after meeting on a reality TV gameshow, which beggars the question - who’s next? George Galloway and Pete Burns perhaps?

New television show for ITV - April 6, 2020
Professional non-celebrity Chantelle Houghton has been chosen to present a new television show for ITV. The 22 year old told ITV.com that she will front a programme about ’a girl who can’t get a date’. Chantelle said that she will give her ’a Chantelle-sort of do, and she goes out on a date with a guy, and hopefully they click.’ Genuis. The mind boggles.

It’s not the ditzy blonde’s first foray into television - sh’s already entertained dozens of insomniacs with her appearances on ’Chantelle: Living the Dream’, in which she acted dumb whilst doing nothing in particular.

Yeah, good luck with that one.

Preston Evicted - Jan 27, 2021
We have to say we weren’t keen on the way Preston changed from sweet BB inmate to swaggering popstar on his exit from the house but for three weeks of entertainment we’ll forgive him. Coming in at a respectable fourth place the Ordinary Boy was greeted with the first unanimous cheer from the waiting crowd to find his girlfriend, looking rather dubious it has to be said, waiting for him. With his single Boys Will Be Boys back in the top ten, his lady sticking around to hear him out and a whole slew of new fans it was no wonder Preston looked pretty pleased with himself.

Straight out of Worthing, young Preston (Sam to his parents) is lead vocalist for modern-day mods The Ordinary Boys. Clearly taking the likes of Paul Weller, Morrissey and perhaps a little mid-nineties Blur as inspiration, the band don Fred Perry tshirts and sing about everyday life ? a formula that has led to them being hailed as ?the next big thing? by the music press. With charted singles, including Talk Talk Talk and Boys Will Be Boys, festival appearances and a stint supporting the aforementioned Modfather The Ordinary Boys, whilst perhaps not setting the world on fire as predicted, have undoubtedly fulfilled a few ambitions.

Just 23 years old Preston?s stint on Celebrity Big Brother, isn?t just for publicity ? apparently fans of his band, known as The Ordinary Army, will know the reasons behind his decision to risk credibility.
