"She has been suffering a severe bout of post-natal depression. Her treatment does not involve taking drugs - just seeing doctors, talking and recuperating. She is there because she is feeling very blue."

Law added: "This depression can be a serious thing and it has left Sadie feeling very sad and run down and she is just trying to get a handle on it. "She has had so much on her plate recently and realises she needs help and to catch her breath. Not only does she have to look after four children - including a baby - she runs a successful business and has been overseeing the refurbishment of our new house."

He adds Frost is upbeat about beating the post-natal depression and is likely to stay in the clinic for another couple of days.


Trouble for Jude and Sadie? - 27/01/03
There is speculation that Sadie Frost and Jude Law’s marriage is in trouble. It’s been rumoured that Sadie became depressed and suicidal.

Reports claimed 37-year-old Sadie had become depressed and had tried to cut her wrists after she was admitted to hospital. However, her best friend Jemima French said the story was completely fabricated.

Sadie jetted home to London alone yesterday after joining Road To Perdition star Jude, 30, for the Golden Globe awards. She is reported to be suffering from post-natal depression after having her fourth child, son Rudy five weeks prematurely in September.

The couple are now battling to save their troubled marriage by working together on a movie. They will co-produce the big-budget vehicle World Of Tomorrow, in which Jude will also star alongside Gwyneth Paltrow.

Sadie’s spokeswoman Mina Kherahas said: "There have been problems with their marriage. "This is mainly due to the fact that they hardly spent any time at all with each other last year. Jude was always away working while Sadie was at home looking after four children and this has put a bit of strain on them.

"But they do both want to try to make it work and things have been a lot healthier since they had a holiday in Thailand over Christmas and the new year.

"Working on a film together is just what they need as they will be able to spend time with each other."

But despite their problems, friends of the couple, who live in a ?1.5million house in Primrose Hill, claim their relationship is solid.


Floozie Sadie- 18/11/02
Primrose Hill resident Sadie Frost is the latest celebrity to be enlisted in the battle of the chain stores. The actress and fashion designer has been signed up to design lingerie for Debenhams.

With her business partner Jemima French, she will produce a line called Floozie which will be "young, directional and above all, very sexy".

Frost and French said they were delighted to be asked to produce clothes for such a well-known high street shop.


Sadie and Jude’s daughter in Ecstasy scare -07/10/02
Sadie Frost and Jude Law’s two-year-old daughter Iris was rushed to hospital over the weekend after swallowing part of an ecstasy tablet at a children’s party.

Iris Law had a stomach pump and brain scan following the incident on Saturday at Soho House on Greek Street.

The premises had been used as a bar and nightclub on the Friday. The actions of Sadie prevented Iris from swallowing the entire tablet, Jude Law was alerted as he was filming in the US.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We were called at 4.11pm Saturday afternoon by a London hospital regarding a two-year-old female child that was believed to have swallowed half a tablet of ecstasy.
