"Sarah’s our dream girl. We’re working on a mix of stars for the show, but she’s the one we’ve set our hearts on," an insider told the Daily Star.
The rest of the Big Brother wish-list reportedly includes TV presenter John Leslie, 41, singer Duncan James, 26, and ghost-spotter Derek Acorah, 57.
US singer Grace Jones, 58, drag queen RuPaul, 46, Hi-Di-Hi’s Su Pollard, 57, and 80s star Adam Ant, 52, may also appear.
But it’s the blonde Something Kinda Ooh singer, 25, producers believe would really spice up the reality TV show.
"She could name her price," the insider added.
Previous contestants have included Take That’s Mark Owen, George Galloway MP, and model Caprice, and it was the show that made unknown Chantelle Houghton a star last year.
Sarah defends party girl image - Nov 21 2006
Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding insists she isn’t as wild as the tabloids make out.
The 24-year-old blonde - who is the new face of Ultimo lingerie - told Star magazine: "I don’t need to go to the Priory - just yet."
She continued: "When you’re my age, you don’t have a boyfriend and you have a lot of friends who are out and about, you don’t want to be sitting indoors every night."
The singer says paparazzi photos often make her look far worse than she really is.
"Sometimes I have more to drink than I should, but the pictures often make you look a lot worse than you are!" she said.
"I seem to get hounded when I go out in the West End, whether I’m drunk or not. It has given me a rep but as long as it’s not affecting my career, I don’t mind."
Sarah was also keen to set the record straight about her celebrity boyfriends, saying she and T4 hunk Steve Jones are "just friends".
"Steve is gorgeous and he knows I adore him, but he’s not marriage material. We go out and we have a laugh. We really enjoy each other’s company," she said.
But for now, it seems Sarah is still on the market. Form an orderly queue boys...
