Cheryl chooses hubby over glitz - Oct 15 2007
Cheryl Cole could be spending her evenings at the glitziest gatherings on the London social scene - but the Girls Aloud star says she prefers to snuggle up at home with hubby Ashley.
The 24-year-old singer, who married England footballer Ashley in July last year, told the Mirror: "We spend every minute that we can together. He's not into showbiz parties or flashy restaurants, he just likes staying at home with me.
"At times I think I'd like to go to The Ivy or somewhere really trendy. But Ashley's not bothered about the whole celebrity thing. He's just an amazing, genuine man."
Despite Ashley's lucrative job, the hardworking Girls Aloud star says she is determined to be more than just a footballer's wife.
"I know there are a lot of desperate girls out there who just want to get themselves a footballer," she said. "It's embarrassing and depressing when I hear kids say to me, 'I wanna be a WAG'. That's not a job!"
Cheryl denies Girls Aloud split rumours - Sept 21 2007
Cheryl Cole has reportedly slammed rumours that Girls Aloud are set to split.
The brunette apparently told The Sun that despite rumours to the contrary, she isn’t planning to go solo anytime soon.
The rumour mill started whirring when songwriter Alison Clarkson - otherwise known as Betty Boo - reportedly said in a radio interview that she had been asked to write a song for Cheryl for when she goes solo.
She was quoted as saying: "I’ve been asked to write for Cheryl Tweedy (her maiden name) because she’s gonna start on her own, I think, because she asked for me. We’ll see what happens."
But Cheryl told the paper: "We’re still finishing the new album, which I have to say is our best yet.
"I’m not sure why anyone would think I would want to work on a solo album now.
"It’s sad that people have to say these things to get a little bit of publicity off the back of us."
Cheryl: Be like Liverpool fans - Sept 10 2007
There may be strong words exchanged across the Cole breakfast table - after Cheryl has declared that Liverpool fans are the best in the game.
The Girls aloud beauty, who is married to Chelsea ace Ashley, says that England fans should be like those in Liverpool.
"We need to get behind the boys more," The Sun quoted her as saying. "We should be like the Liverpool fans. Their theory is the worse you are, the louder you shout. It makes a real difference.
"It can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when they start singing You’ll Never Walk Alone."
She also added that she disagrees with fans who boo players.
"I feel sorry for the England players getting booed," she explained. "I think it’s terrible.
"I was saying to the girls, can you imagine if every time we went on stage we got shouted at by the crowd? It would be awful."
Cheryl: You have to pick up dirty underwear - July 31 2007
Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole has lifted the lid on being married to a Premiership footballer and has reportedly revealed that it is all about "picking up dirty underwear".
The 24-year-old has just celebrated her first wedding anniversary to the Chelsea and England star - but says her life on the inside is not as glamorous as we may think.
Commenting on what married life has taught her, she told Star magazine: "That you have to pick up dirty towels and dirty underwear, unplug the sink and stuff like that."

At the age of 16 Cheryl auditioned for the Royal Ballet Summer School in
Despite securing a place at the Royal Ballet School and getting distinctions for her dancing from the Royal Academy of Dancing, Cheryl wanted to sing so auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals - the rest, as they say, is history. Soon after hitting the number one spot with Sound of the Underground Cheryl was accused of Racially Aggravated Assault following an altercation in a nightclub toilet. She was sentenced to 120 hours of community service and accusations of racism has plagued her ever since.
In 2006 Cheryl married footballer Ashley Cole, a move which saw critics of both celebrities rubbing their hands in glee (it has been suggested that the marriage was one of convenience with both Cheryl’s rumoured racism and Ashley’s rumoured homosexuality cited). The wedding took place following the World Cup, a tournament during which Cheryl officialy joined the WAG collective. However she remains determined to remain more than just a footballer’s wife - the continuing success of Girls Aloud has so far seen to that.
