Kensington Palace is one of the royal residences in London, but it has galleries and state rooms open to the public, as well as a wonderful tea-room in The Orangery.
Kensington Palace is best known today as the place where Princess Diana lived until her death in 1997. It was in fact the official London residence of both Charles and Di until the couple formally separated.

Leighton House was the home of Victorian Britain's favourite painters Lord Frederick Leighton. The house was built in 1866 to his own design and furnished in lavish style influenced by Eastern art and architecture. There are superb tiles and mosaics and even a fountain in the Arab Hall (added in 1877-9).
