""Had a superb night at Cuba recently, the Mojitos went down a treat and especially the cigars ! Went downstairs into the club after a scummy meal & partied till late, some very good dancers ! Liked the tattoos they gave us of the Cuban flag !""

""Long gone are the days of Kensington being all about the ladies who lunch, the members only bars and the cigar sucking clientele of musty old wine bars run by moustachioed Frenchmen. Kensington now has its fair share of fun, young venues at which you can dance the night away clutching your favourite cocktail and Cuba is at the head of the pack.
That Latino vibe is still as strong as ever in the capital so Cuba?s mix of great music, fabulous cocktails and fun atmosphere is ever popular. This colourful, roughly decorated bar reflects our tourists view of its namesake, evoking the images of cool collapsed fifties cars, loud music and dancing in to a hot, sweaty night while being as unpretentious and pose-free as it gets in these parts.
The huge drinks list suits any tastes with wines, beers and soft drinks on offer, but it?s the extensive cocktail menu that gets us excited with the Cuban greats such as the Mojito and the Hemingway Daiquiri (no doubt inspired by the extra strong Papa Doble invented by the country?s own Floridita bar to cater for Hemingway?s thirst for booze ? a little bit of history in a glass eh?) sitting alongside the Long Island Iced Tea, Sex on the (Latin) Beach and the Dirty Sanchez.
And if all those concoctions get you in the mood for food tapas, platters, burgers and fajitas are there to sate any appetite, served in generous
portions with plates to share and meals to scoff before anyone starts eyeing them up hungrily. ""

"Cuban restaurant and cocktail bar with colourful d?cor, decent food, fair wine and delicious cocktails. The staff are very friendly if a little odd and the ambience is happy and relaxed. Only to be expected surely when surrounded by a mad mix of authentic political and pop culture posters, religious artefacts and, one would hope somewhat less authentic rifles. My tapas lunch of crab croquettes with mango puree, and escabeche were nice though on the mediocre side. I would have liked a little more crab in the croquettes and some bite to the puree while the tuna seemed over-marinated and the sauce too indistinctly flavoured. However, the food was very good for a fiver! I doubt you'll find better for the same price. My friends ordered chorizo and sweet potato croquettes which were apparently very good, as was the Sirloin steak marinated Cuban style. The warm chicken and salad baguettes were also nice. There were vegetarian options but we didn't try any of them. The wine was fair but I daresay better was on offer in the list as they had run out of some of the better ones at the time. My friends and I dropped in later for happy hour cocktails. They were nearly all delicious. I recommend the Mojito; it looks like a plant in your glass but is sweet, minty and dangerously refreshing. All the other cocktails also came up to scratch, including the Margaritas, despite there being a bit too much salt on the glass rims. Steer clear of the coconut numbers though unless a coconut fan. All in all, a great place; good for drinks, lunch or a well-priced supper. Perfect for quiet cocktails in the evening when it transforms into a lively bar that's not too crowded or noisy. Well worth a visit."
