Some coffee houses play at creating an atmosphere, but The Troubadour is a true original - one of the last 1950’s coffee houses complete with a deli, a basement bar, jazz and an art gallery for the bohemian soul.
Downstairs is just called The Club - a place that has seen action from Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to name but a few. Today there is still a full line up of live music, poetry readings and comedy nights, all in rather swish surroundings. The live music leans towards r n b, folk and jazz, with emphasis on talent - not just anyone can play The Troubadour you know. Should you be blessed with mates, a bottomless pocket and an upcoming event - you can also hire The Club for a private party. E-mail susie@troubadour.co.uk for more details on that one.

Wednesays - The Sessions
The Troubadour Sessions, every Wednesday, is the best place to check out the freshest sounds on the unsigned live music scene. Both full bands and acoustic singersongwriters take to the stage and perform their own material.
’The Troubadour Sessions are without doubt the best of the short set genre. Two halfs of diverse music, completley digestable whatever your music taste. The sound is warm and suprisingly loud without being overbearing. Music is the priority and there are regular visitors who will come and see you again. Try and get a gig here and bring your fans with you, they will LOVE IT!’ Blabbermouth (musician)

Finally - if you get peckish then there is the marvellous deli. Stocked with all manner of gorgeous food - they have the best of everything from all over the world - I dare you to try and enter without purchasing something weird in a jar and something fresh from the counter. You won’t be able to. Fact.
Blues with a bit of funky, jazzy stuff. Was a great evening before so hopefully this will be pretty good too!"
