The August Friday Late View at the V&A; will bring
alive the sounds, sights and smells of India in a one-night explosion
of Bollywood-inspired music, dance, style and food.
Highlights include:
An awesome funk-fuelled 'Love vs Revenge' DJ clash, Bollywood style,
between DJ Ritu (Club Kali) and DJs Harv and Sunny of SutraSonic
(Outcaste Records). Immerse yourself in this open-air Mela as these
musical giants man the decks on the balcony of the Pirelli Garden.
Award-winning Anglo Asian stand-up comedian Jeff
Mirza will compere the event.
Luscious musical arrangements by Bollywood Strings.
Filmi dances from the most popular Bollywood movies including performances
from Sister India's Cat & Chix.
A Sari Labyrinth in the Museum's sumptuous Gamble Room - a colourful,
hypnotic maze of saris will lead to special hidden chill-out areas
where classic Bollywood movies will be shown.
Lounge around and sample the best of Indian cinema in the most intimate
of settings.
Bollywood-inspired make-up applications by MAC Cosmetics.
A scintillating introduction to the best Bollywood dance moves with
renowned choreographer Honey Kalaria. Honey, a specialist in modern
Indian dance, will lead late view-goers through sensational Bollywood
dance sequences with her dance partner Sunny.
Film screenings of classic Indian films will be shown around the
museum including a showing of the epic Sholay.
The 'Cinema India' exhibition will be open for late-night viewing
and Indian food and drink will be served.
Sounds like quite a night!
