Following the release of his new album, José will perform a string of UK dates in October. These will be the first shows since his UK festival appearances last summer and promise to be exceptional due to the relatively intimate venues chosen for the tour.

José González became a household name across the world with the help of 250,000 coloured bouncing balls and a Sony Bravia television commercial featuring his spare and moving version of The Knife's song, 'Heartbeats'.

With sales of over 400,000 in the UK alone, 'Veneer' was in the Top 40 for six months and was one of only two independent albums certified platinum in the UK in 2006 (the other was Arctic Monkeys' debut).
