Amanda, who has recently been meeting film agents in the US, will play a character called Millie Dillmmount that might strike a chord - she’s a young and ambitious woman from Kansas who moves to New York, determined to marry her much older boss and to dance to jazz.

The musical will be shown at the Shaftsbury theatre this autumn.

We will soon find out the answer, as St Johns Wood gal Amanda Holden apparently is on the verge of signing to EMI.

According to a spokesman, Amanda is ’not planning to be the next Britney Spears or Kylie - she wants to do more grown-up pop.’ How fantastic.

A friend of the star has said that she has a ’brilliant voice’ and we may hear it soon, as the rumor is that the Chicago treadmill is after the blonde star.

The very smart Amanda Holden obviously saw her marriage split coming and what was a girl to do but prepare for it.

The actress bought a new £800,000 home in St John’s Wood, the bachelorette pad was bought with her own money months ago and she apparently told friends it was an investment, but as it was conveniently empty, it was perfect for her to move straight in to.

Surprise surprise Les Dennis and Amanda Holden have announced the end of their seven- year marriage.

A statement issued on the couple’s behalf said: "It is with great sadness that Les Dennis and Amanda Holden announce that their seven-year marriage has come to an end. "The parting is amicable. There are no other parties involved and they are and will remain close friends."

Holden, 31, said: "It is very sad. We have been together for 10 years and we have tried hard to make our marriage work. I have the most enormous love and respect for Les."

Dennis, who was the Celebrity Big Brother runner-up, said: "Amanda and I have had a good marriage and I have no regrets. Sadly, we have grown apart recently and we both feel that it is time to move on. I wish her good luck in all that she does in the future."

The pair said they would not be making any other statements or giving interviews about their marriage.

The pair did not spend Christmas together, Amanda jetted off to Spain with her firmeds whilst Les Dennis was with his sisters in Liverpool and has now flown out to Johannesburg for a New Year break with friends.

While Les Dennis was in the BB house; Amanda Holden kept pictures of him on her phone. She used her nifty Sharp camera phone to save the snaps, and also asked friends to send their Les pics to her.

Whilst her hubby Les Dennis is locked up in the Big Brother house, Amanda Holden is up North in Manchester filming the second series of Cutting It. The BBC has recommissioned the series.

Amanda has begun filming in Manchester alongside Sarah Parish, Angela Griffin and Jason Merrells. Viewers were left stunned at the end of the last series when Allie Henshall walked out on husband Gavin Ferraday in favour of first love Finn.

The new series sees Allie’s rival Mia, played by Holden, out for revenge.
