A source said: "Amy told Blake that she’d spare no expense - she’s working so hard now that they tried to cram in two weeks’ worth of fun in two days. They locked themselves in and wouldn’t even leave to let the chambermaids change the linen.

"Every few hours, they’d call and ask for bubbly and occasionally French fries."

Amy ties the knot - May 21 2007

Amy Winehouse has married her long-term boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil.

The Rehab singer’s rep has confirmed that the loved-up couple tied the knot in Miami on Friday.

"Yes, Amy did marry today in Miami," Amy’s publicist, Tracey Miller, told People magazine on Friday after the low-key ceremony.

The pair spent a romantic three-day break at The Shore Club in South Beach, where Amy was scheduled to complete a magazine shoot, before tying the knot in front of a few close friends in the unannounced ceremony.

The singer and her boyfriend of two-and-a-half years, who are both 23, apparently got engaged in April when Blake presented her with a Tiffany diamond ring.

Although Amy and Blake are thought to have had a turbulent relationship in recent months, having apparently split briefly earlier this year, Amy told The Sun shortly after their engagement: "I hope to be with him for the rest of my life."

The star has credited Blake as being the inspiration behind tracks including Tears Dry On Their Own from her hit album, Back To Black

Amy on track for three Mojo awards - May 10 2007

Amy Winehouse has continued her ascent to the top of the music world - bagging three Mojo music nominations.

The 23-year-old singer has been shortlisted for Song Of The Year for hit track Rehab, as well as Best Album for her second release Back To Black, and Best Live Act.

The nominations mark yet more success for the north London jazz diva, who is being tipped to crack the US market after winning over the audience at a prestigious California music festival last month.

In the Song Of The Year category, the Brit-award winner is up against the Arctic Monkeys for this year’s Brianstorm.

The Monkeys, who released their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare this year, have another nomination - for Best Live Act.

The Who are also nominated for Best Live Act after Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend reunited for the band’s first world tour in more than 20 years.

Bob Dylan’s Modern Times is up for Best Album. At 65, he became the oldest person to top the US album charts with his latest long-player, a UK No 3, last August.

Johnny Cash has been nominated for a posthumous award for Catalogue Release Of The Year, for a reissue of the landmark Johnny Cash At San Quentin 1969.

The awards, attended in the past by the likes of James Brown, Sir Elton John, Morrissey, Ray Davies, Jimmy Page and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, take place on June 18 in central London.

Biography

Amy Winehouse hails from Osidge Lane, Southgate, although she currently lives in Camden. She is being feted as the new big thing with a voice likened to soul artists of the caliber of American soul queen Erykah Badu.

Amy and her brother Alex were brought up by her mum and grandmother, and fondly remembers ’Growing up in East Finchley was cool.’ She started playing guitar at 12 and listening to jazz. Her acceptance into the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School seemed to spell big things for Amy, although she was expelled at 15, apparently for getting her nose pierced. She carried on her studies at an all girls school in Mill Hill, which she hated as there were no fella’s there.

Amy made appearances with the Youth Jazz Orchestra, produced a demo tape of jazz covers that was picked up by Universal/Island Records, and they signed her almost immediately. She released her album Frank in October 2003 and supported Jamie Callum on his national tour. Amy then went on to be nominated for two Brit Awards, British Female Solo Artist and Best Urban Artist. Not bad for a girl of 20!
