Britney Spears
- Profession: Singer
- Place/Date of Birth: McComb, Mississippi, United States, 02 December 2020
If convicted, the singer could face up to six months in jail and a £500 fine for each count, said Nick Velasquez, spokesman for the city attorney’s office.
Messages left with Spears’ lawyers were not immediately returned.
The alleged incident occurred on August 6, Velasquez said.
Spears was allegedly captured by paparazzi that day steering her car into another vehicle as she tried to turn into a spot in a Studio City car park. After assessing the damage to her own car only, she was shown on paparazzi video walking away.
Drug and alcohol testing for Britney - Sept 19 2007
Britney Spears has been ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week, according to court documents in the US pop star’s custody dispute with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The order was issued on Monday by a judge who required both parents to refrain from drinking and using drugs around their two young children and 12 hours before either cares for them.
Only Britney was ordered to submit to testing.
"Based on the evidence presented, the court finds that there is a habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol" by Britney, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon said in court documents.
Messages left with attorneys for the former couple were not immediately returned.
The singer married aspiring rapper K-Fed in October 2004. She filed for divorce last November and the divorce became official on July 30. The two have joint custody of their sons -- Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one -- but Kevin is seeking a greater share of custody.
The judge also said Britney must meet for eight hours a week with a "parenting coach", who will observe and report back to the court about her parenting skills.
Both parents are prohibited from "making derogatory remarks" about each other in their children’s presence, and from "using corporal punishment" to discipline them.
Each must complete the court’s Parenting Without Conflict class.
Britney bodyguard ’prepared to testify’ - Sept 18 2007
A former bodyguard for Britney Spears went to court to support a sealed declaration about questionable behaviour by the US pop star in a child-custody dispute between the singer and ex-husband Kevin Federline -- but never got to testify.
Tony Barretto, 28, arrived at the Los Angeles court yesterday with a lawyer but Family Court Commissioner Scott Gordon held only a brief open session before clearing the courtroom of everyone but attorneys for Britney and K-Fed to privately discuss unsealing documents in the ongoing case.
Outside court, Barretto’s attorney Gloria Allred issued a statement calling him a "key and secret witness".
"We are shocked that Ms Spears’ attorneys chose not to cross-examine our client as to the substance of his declaration," Allred said. "Our client was prepared to testify on issues of nudity by Ms Spears, drug use, and safety issues involving the children post-rehab."
The singer married aspiring rapper Kevin in October 2004. She filed for divorce last November and the divorce became official on July 30. The two have joint custody of sons Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one.
Britney hired Barretto when she left a rehabilitation facility in March but fired him on May 17 because "he didn’t hear her when she asked him to pick up her hat", Allred said.
Laura Wasser, an attorney who represented Britney until yesterday, said Barretto was a disgruntled employee.

During the early years of her career Britney made millions thanks to merchandising deals and successful hits. But she faced controversy throughout with rumours of plastic surgery and feuds with other stars. Her third album, which saw her take a sexier and more adult turn, was a relative disappointment while her critically panned but box office friendly debut movie Crossroads was a fleeting highlight. Meanwhile her long relationship with Justin Timberlake came to an end in 2002 amid claims that her reputation as a virgin was false and in fact that she had cheated on the N*Sync star?Britney responded by sharing a kiss with idol Madonna on stage at the MTV Awards ? an act which saw the pair criticized more than admired.
The kiss signaled the end of Britney?s pop-childhood and with the release of In The Zone and the hit single Toxic she began building a new fanbase. A drunken Las Vegas wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment after just fifty five hours but, rather than concentrate on her career, Britney continued leaning on the lovelife self destruct button. She, despite advice to the contrary, married dancer, aspiring rapper and all round rat-faced bad boy Kevin Federline in a trailer trash wedding in 2004 and within months announced she was pregnant.
Having given birth to son, Sean Preston, Britney seems to have put her career on hold despite the success of a greatest hits album and the launch of her fragrance, Curious. Meanwhile rumours persist about the state of her marriage to Federline with the press accusing him of taking no interest in his wife and son and of cheating on the singing star.
