Britney and Kevin, 28, have a one-year-old son, Sean Preston, and a 12-week-old son, Jayden James, who was born on September 12. Britney is seeking custody of both children, with visitation rights for Kevin.

Kevin, an aspiring rapper, is seeking spousal support and sole custody of his sons with Britney.

Britney may be divorcing her aspiring rap star husband, but that doesn’t seem to be mean that she will engage in his public humiliation.

Britney dropped out last-minute from hosting the Billboard Awards and sources are suggesting it may be because of a barb directed at her ex.

On the show broadcast live from Las Vegas, the announcer said that after the break there would be a live performance from Kevin. It was followed by a shot of hundreds of screaming people running out of the theatre.

When her former hubby was ripped at The American Music Awards just before she took to the stage to present an award, Britney bit her lip, but was said to be angry.

The Billboard sketch may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Brit was not the only one to drop out of the event. New bezza Paris Hilton also ditched, apparently because the script she was given called for her to take potshots at her so-called showbiz pals.

It seems newly single Britney Spears may have pinched her new best friend Paris’s former flame, from right under her nose.

The Toxic crooner was spotted having dinner with oil heir Brandon Davis in Los Angeles yesterday.

The 25-year-old Hilton heiress dated the grandson of late oil billionaire Martin Davis, for a few months earlier this year.

A pal told The Daily Star: "Paris and Britney have been sharing quite a few nights out together recently - but I’m not sure Paris will want to share her boyfriends with her."

The hunky heir is obviously popular with the ladies - he has previously been out with OC actress Mischa Barton.

Meanwhile Madonna has apparently called Britney and urged her to dump her partying pal Paris before it ruins her career.

Madge is worried that her drinking and partying has spiralled out of control since she split with K-Fed.

A source said: "Madge has told Britney to stay away from Paris, chill out and get her s*** together.

"She thinks she’s ruining her chances of getting her career back on track after having her children.

"She understands that she needs to let her hair down and have some fun but the stories that are being flashed around the world won’t do much for her street cred."

The duo shopped in Malibu over the weekend, along with Brit’s oldest son, Sean Preston.

According to People magazine, a source says: "Paris was acting like Britney’s boyfriend. She opened doors for her, held her hand and even had her arm around Britney’s lower back."
