The entire net profits of the CD will be donated to the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund. New Orleans native, Harry Connick Jr, who sings "City Beneath the Sea" on the charity record said: "This CD helps us heal a place that has given so much music to the world."

Chris Martin has banned Coldplay’s music from his home - so wife Gwyneth Paltrow and daughter Apple sneakily listen to it in the car. The Hollywood actress has confessed her husband doesn’t like to hear his own records, but admits she and baby Apple listen to them when Chris isn’t around. She revealed: "It’s sort of banned from our home. But when he’s not around, we play it in the car."

Gwyneth has also confessed she is not as glamorous as people think since having Apple. She told America’s Access Hollywood TV show: "I definitely pretend to be glamorous in my real everyday life. I wouldn’t characterise it as very glamorous. I’m mostly in sweat pants with my daughter, wiping hummus off my shirt."

Meanwhile, the stunning actress has revealed she is finding it tough balancing motherhood with her successful film career. She said: "Having had a child, the idea of doing a film and working those 14-hour days and being away from home is something that’s very difficult as a concept."

The award-winning band, fronted by Chris Martin, paid their respects to those whose lives have been ruined by the devastating storm during a concert in New York. Chris, who is married to Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow, dedicated the song ’Politik’ to "those on the Gulf Coast who have lost everything." He then sang: "Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens/ All send your love to New Orleans."

Coldplay are not the only stars using their music to support those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Yesterday (07.09.05), it was revealed Michael Jackson is recording a charity record to raise much-needed funds for the survivors and the recovery effort. The pop superstar is hoping to recruit a galaxy of stars to join him on new track ’From The Bottom Of My Heart’. The singer said: "I will be reaching out to others within the music industry, to join me in helping to bring relief and hope to these resilient people who have lost everything."
