Coleen McLoughlin
- Profession: Footballer's girlfriend
- Place/Date of Birth: Liverpool, 03 April 2020
- Assiociated with: Wayne Rooney
The staggering figure is thought to be the largest ever paid by a celebrity magazine to cover a wedding.
Contracts were completed around three weeks ago and the enormous sum also includes exclusive access to Coleen’s 21st birthday party to be held in the Wirral later this month. Both bashes will be lavish affairs with stringent security for the couple and their showbiz guests.
Details of Coleen’s birthday, expected to be held at Thornton Hall in two weeks’ time, emerged in the national press earlier this month.
The couple met in 1998 and began dating in 2001 when Coleen was only 14-years-old. Rooney is rumoured to have proposed to her on the forecourt of a petrol station in 2003.
Sources close to the striker said: "It’s likely the wedding will be next summer although a definite date has not been arranged yet."
Rooney’s agent Ian Monk said: "No date has been set for the wedding and it certainly would not be before summer 2008."
Wayne’s fashion tips - Mar 7 2007
Coleen McLoughlin has admitted she asks fiance Wayne Rooney for fashion tips - despite the fact he knows nothing about clothes.
The WAG told New! magazine the footballer - who has been nicknamed "Scruff" - gives it to her straight when it comes to her outfits.
"I do ask Wayne’s opinion on clothes but he’s not very good at it. He will say if he doesn’t like something though," she says.
But Coleen might soon have more to think about than her look - she’s apparently admitted she’s keen to swap her shopping bags for dancing shoes for a stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
She has been swamped with offers to appear on the latest string of reality shows but says Strictly is the only one she would consider.
She told the Daily Star: "I do enjoy watching TV shows, but the only one I’d consider doing is Strictly Come Dancing.
"I also love I’m A Celebrity but I don’t know how I’d cope in the jungle. I would get ripped apart on X Factor - I can’t sing to save my life."
No WAG wedding for Coleen this year - Feb 19 2007
Coleen has revealed that 2007 isn’t going to spell a white wedding for her and Wayne.
The 20-year-old, whose autobiography Welcome To My World is being serialised in the Daily Mirror, said the couple still planned to marry but the wedding would not be taking place this year as rumoured.
"Me and Wayne would like to get married in the near future and then we can think about having children," she said.
But she added that she wasn’t planning to start a family soon.
"Wayne would love to have a child right now but I think I’m too young."
And she said that the couple’s time in the spotlight has strengthened their relationship.
"The experiences we’ve been through together, both personally and in our careers, have forced us to grow up quicker than a lot of couples our age. Going through all we have done has only brought us closer."
Coleen: I was an Ugly Betty - Jan 17 2007
She may be one of the most glamorous WAGs these days, but Coleen McLoughlin has revealed she used to be an Ugly Betty.
The fiancee of footballer Wayne Rooney says she used to be the spitting image of the TV show’s dowdy magazine assistant - right down to the braces and specs.
"Like Betty I wore a brace and glasses when I was younger," the 20-year-old told the Daily Star.

Coleen met aspiring footballer Wayne Rooney at St John Bosco Catholic school where, she says, he pestered her in to going out with him by constantly asking ’are you gonna ring me?’ Their first date is reported to have been at the local cinema, where they watched Austin Powers 2. Although Coleen left school with a respectable ten GCSEs and aspirations to become an actress (she had starred in school productions of Grease and Bugsy Malone), by this time she had become something of a celebrity as Wayne became one of England’s most famous young footballers.
Tabloid excitement followed as Coleen shopped ’til she dropped, forgave Wayne an ill advised dalliance with a prostitute, accepted a proposal on a petrol station forecourt then threw her £46,000 ring in to the otter enclosure at the zoo. By the time she was 18 Coleen was one of the most photographed women in the country and her developing style had won her legions of fans.
Before long Coleen had no need to spend her boyfriend’s money - she had amassed a fortune of £5.5m of her own through sponsorship deals, writing her own column for Closer, modelling for Asda (whom she is also in talks to design a range for), and a deal to write her own book, Welcome to My World. Meanwhile she has challenged public perception through a presenting stint on Tonight With Trevor McDonald in which she spoke about Rett’s Syndrome.
Coleen, who lives in Cheshire, will reportedly marry Wayne in 2008.
