It is time to pay official homage to our Dads this Father's Day on June 19th, and I am sure our celebrity counterparts will be doing the same.

It is fair to say that the image of fatherhood has been updated by a few 'big name' celeb daddies tackling their responsibilities hands on. David Beckham was one of the first celebrities to publicly and openly exhibit a sensitive side towards fatherhood. He showed fellow fathers that it is ok to speak of your love for your child, and more importantly, that you can still look 'macho' while doing it. For all the affair allegations, David seems completely devoted to his three sons Brooklyn, Romeo and baby Cruz, and I bet wife Victoria will no doubt supply a few lavish presents for him come Father's Day.

Another celeb who is not afraid to declare love for his child is Eminem. You don't even have to be a fan to know that his daughter Hailie Jade is the most important person in his life. Hailie is regularly name checked in songs - Eminem's most recent hit 'Mockingbird' is practically dedicated to her - and she even provided vocals on his track 'My Dad's Gone Crazy'.

Coldplay's Chris Martin has recently been gushing about the joys of fatherhood, saying that he feels privileged to be allowed to be a dad. Chris became dad to baby Apple last May and despite sticking his daughter with a fruit related moniker is often to be pictured carrying the baby.

However it's not always a case of happy or archetypal families in Celebsville. Newly separated dad Brian McFadden will no doubt be trying to spend some time with daughters Molly and Lily Sue, and then there is Live 8 organiser and single dad Bob Geldof who has raised his three daughters Peaches, Pixie and Fifi Trixibelle. He also adopted Tiger-Lily, the daughter that his ex-wife Paula Yates had with ill fated INXS singer Michael Hutchence, following Paula's death in 2000.

But you don't have to be famous to be celebrating fathers day, although being a dad would probably help. Take time to enjoy your family on June 19th, and relax dads, you deserve it!
