Denise attended the famous Sylvia Young’s stage school; her schoolmates included Baby Spice, Dani Behr and Martine McCutheon. She’s a press favourite and celebrity since she joined Channel 4’s early show The Big Breakfast in 1995. She is well known for her on-screen chemistry and crazy antics with co-host Johnny Vaughan and the pair realised a single for Comic Relief - a cover of the Kylie & Jason song "Especially For You" in 1998, which made the top ten.
After The Big Breakfast, Denise presented the saucy programme Something For the Weekend, and Record Of The Year. She also starred in the sitcom Babes In The Wood and had roles in the film Love Honour & Obey and Tube Tales.
She famously nicked an ashtray from a royal reception for ’young achievers’, and then returned it with an apologetic note to Buckingham Palace. As well as flashing her bra at Prince Charles’s back during a charity pop concert, she told reporters that she’d only done it to make the pop group Steps laugh at an inappropriate moment.
She dated musician and lead singer in Jamiroquai, Jay Kay for three years. They were engaged and rumoured to be getting married. However, they’ve since split somewhat acrimoniously and she still lives in her bachelor-girl flat in Islington.
Denise’s most recent works includes starring as Roxie Hart in the hit musical "Chicago".
