The public must love Gareth’s grown up image, as he won two National Music Awards!

It seems the white suits,the less spiky hair cut and of course the songs have helped Pop Idol Gareth win Favourite TV music appearance and Favourite Male Singer.

Fellow idol Will wasn’t left high and dry though, he also won the Faveourite Album, so at least these two Pop Idols are still laughing!

Yup, Gareth has announced the dates of his first ever steps. sorry tour, which is scheduled for next year. He said ’I’ve wanted to do a solo tour since I can remember. It’s such an amazing feeling when you’re out on the road meeting all the fans’. But you have to book early if you want to see Gareth as he is a very popular lad - tickets are already on sale so get going!

Gareth Gates has won the Best Male Award for the second year running at the Disney Channel Kids Awards.

Gareth wore one of his trademark white shirts with pale blue jeans, and proved he still has what it takes to woo the crowd at the award show. No matter that the average age of said crowd was about ten.

Other award winners on the night were Dannii Minogue - Best female, Big Brovaz - Best Group, Busted - Best newcomer and Girls Aloud - best single.

Pop Idol Gareth Gates has angered Bradford residents after admitting in his autobiography that he often hides his Bradford background when meeting new people.

He now claims to be a Londoner, claiming it is easier to say that he is from London where he is living in a luxury pad.

The 19-year-old singer spent his life in Bradford until ITV talent show Pop Idol turned him into a star and he moved to London.

He even became an ambassador for the city during its bid to become the European Capital of Culture.

However, his remarks angered the Yorkshire city, he is now keen to undo the damage by revealing that he has just purchased a £500,000 farmhouse for his family on the outskirts of Bradford and saying Bradford will always be his home.

Gareth cancels festival - 27/07/03
Gareth Gates has pulled out from an event in Glasgow due to a mystery illness.

Gareth was due to play at Hebs Live and Loud in Glasgow’s Hampden Park with fellow popstrels Girls Aloud, Blue and Liberty X to name a few, but had to cancel his scheduled appearance.

Surely he is not still in shock from admitting his affair with busty lass Jordan?
