Doggy dummy - 09/08/01
Shih-tzu pooch Harry will soon become the third dog to be displayed in Madame Tussaud’s museum. You might not have heard of Harry, but you’ve certainly heard of his mistress. Wee Harry is to join Geri Hallywell’s wax model later this year in the Marlyborne museum. Recently she’s become so attached to her Harry, that she’s decided they should be immortalized together. I guess there’ll be plenty of wax left after Geri’s recent obsessive slimming campaign. A spokeswoman for the museum joked about the Geri model: ’It should be fun and cheap because it isn’t like we are going to use much wax for her figure’. Geri’s Harry will be only the third dog to be displayed in the museum, following Barbara Cartland’s pooch (who certainly wouldn’t stand for being denied entry) and John Noakes’ dog, Shep.
Addictive Geri -16/06/01
First it’s her sexuality, then it’s her weight, next it’s her sex life with Robbie, now *sigh* she’s reputedly attending AA meetings. The former ginger spice was spotted attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Rome at St. Andrew’s Church of Scotland - this is not the first time either, sightings of Geri in the company of recovering alcoholics have been coming in fast and furious - however her spokesman continues to deny that she has a drinking problem. Geri sparked fury in the past when the newly packaged ’stick insect’ attended an Overeaters Anonymous meeting.

Geri Halliwell is finally going to be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussaud’s, According to insiders at the museum, the new statue will show Geri in the silver-blue backless Julien Macdonald creation that she wore to the Bridget Jones’s Diary premiere. Geri narrowly missed out on being cast in wax back in 1999, after she left the Spice Girls. The group had been selected for the Tussaud’s treatment in 1998 when Geri was still with the band, but by the time the waxworks were underway, Geri had departed. Spokesmen for Madame Tussaud’s refuse to officially confirm plans for the new statue, but say that names for a new batch of waxworks will be announced within the next few weeks.
Labour babe not gonna vote - 21/05/01
Party political pop star Geri Halliwell is not eligible to vote at the forthcoming general election, it has emerged. The former Spice Girl, who has urged everyone to ’use their vote’ on 7 June, will not actually be using her own, as her name does not appear on the electoral register. Geri, whose album Sing If You Wanna Go Faster is in shops now, appeared on a party political broadcast for the Labour party last week, which was aired on the very same day that the album was released. Speaking afterwards, she admitted that while she knew very little about the Labour party’s actual policies, she believed that Tony Blair was a very good father and makes a good prime minister as a result. A spokesman for the singer said that she was not on the electoral register for ’security reasons’, as it could make it easier for stalkers to find her home address.

In the 1990s Geri became one fifth of the worlds biggest girl band and has never looked back. Along with Mel B, Emma, Mel C and Victoria, she scored some of the biggest hits of the decade, made a feature film and raked in the cash through sponsorship deals. But in May ’98 Geri made the shock announcement that she was to leave the band to persue a solo career.
She sold her Spice clothes to raise more than $200,000 for a cancer charity, journeyed to Uganda for Comic Relief, was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations, and even got to sing "Happy Birthday" to the future king of England, Prince Charles.
Nearly a year after her departure from the Spice Girls, Halliwell released her debut solo album, Schizophonic, whose sound is a self-described cross between "Julie Andrews and Johnny Rotten." The album, released on Capitol Records, contained Halliwell’s first single, "Look at Me." which went to number 2 in the charts. She followed up the success of Schizophonic with Scream If You Want To Go Faster in 2001. After going solo, Geri moved to LA, formed an unlikely close relationship with George Michael and told all to the press about her eating disorders after losing an incredible amount of weight and releasing two yoga videos.
Geri is now back in the UK, working on new material and a reality TV show which will follow the format of The Osbournes. She’s also back to her old busty ginger self!
