The Spice Girls are secretly planning to reunite - Jan 16, 2021
The Spice Girls are secretly planning to reunite for a world tour, it has been claimed. Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton - who split for good in 2001, three years after Geri left the band in 1998 - have been organising rehearsal dates and plan to tour by the end of the year. The girls - formerly known as Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Baby - also hope to release a new single to coincide with their concerts.

The five girls have been motivated to reform after witnessing the massive interest in the recently announced comeback tour by ’90s boy band Take That. A source told the News of the World newspaper: "Everyone is working very hard to make it the comeback tour. "They’ve been taken by surprise by Take That selling out all their venues, so are going one better with a bigger tour." "The original plan was just one gig but everybody got more and more excited and the project grew and grew. There is now talk of Japan, Europe and the US but the dates are yet to be finalised."

Geri Halliwell asked George Michael to be her birthing partner - Jan 5, 2021

Pregnant Geri Halliwell has asked best friend George Michael to be her birthing partner if the father refuses to be involved. The former Spice Girl plans to fly to Los Angeles later this week to patch things up with the father, script writer Sacha Gervasi, 39, after weeks of rows. But if the pair fail to reconcile, Geri reportedly wants singer George to be by her side throughout her labour.

A friend of the singer told the Daily Star newspaper: "Geri has grown very close to George and his partner Kenny Goss and has already spoken to them both about going to pre-birthing classes with her should Sacha be unable to attend. "Geri will attend one of the best courses in West Hollywood but only time will tell whether Sacha can make it or not. "He has said he will look after Geri and their baby no matter what, but they have both had such a turbulent time of things and he has been inundated with work. "Geri has a lot to learn between now and when she gives birth in the spring and George and Kenny will do whatever they can to help."

Geri is delighted being pregnant - Oct 26, 2020
Geri Halliwell’s brother has revealed his sister is "delighted" being pregnant. Although the former Spice Girl has refused to confirm she is expecting scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi’s baby, her older brother, Max, has admitted she is thrilled at the prospect of becoming a mother. He revealed: "She is absolutely delighted. I haven’t seen her for a few months as she has been in the States, but we’re looking forward to getting together to celebrate the news."

Geri, who is said to be three months pregnant, has reportedly split from Sacha, who wrote the Tom Hanks film ’The Terminal’, but he recently vowed to support her and the baby. He said: "I fully intend to give Geri and the baby all the love and support they need."

Biography

Born Geraldine Estelle Halliwell on 6th August 1972 in Watford, London, Geri Halliwell is best known as Ginger Spice but in fact started her career long before she joined the Spice Girls - working as a topless prize girl on Turkish TV.

In the 1990s Geri became one fifth of the worlds biggest girl band and has never looked back. Along with Mel B, Emma, Mel C and Victoria, she scored some of the biggest hits of the decade, made a feature film and raked in the cash through sponsorship deals. But in May ’98 Geri made the shock announcement that she was to leave the band to persue a solo career.

She sold her Spice clothes to raise more than $200,000 for a cancer charity, journeyed to Uganda for Comic Relief, was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations, and even got to sing "Happy Birthday" to the future king of England, Prince Charles.

Nearly a year after her departure from the Spice Girls, Halliwell released her debut solo album, Schizophonic, whose sound is a self-described cross between "Julie Andrews and Johnny Rotten." The album, released on Capitol Records, contained Halliwell’s first single, "Look at Me." which went to number 2 in the charts. She followed up the success of Schizophonic with Scream If You Want To Go Faster in 2001. After going solo, Geri moved to LA, formed an unlikely close relationship with George Michael and told all to the press about her eating disorders after losing an incredible amount of weight and releasing two yoga videos.

Geri is now back in the UK, working on new material and a reality TV show which will follow the format of The Osbournes. She’s also back to her old busty ginger self!
