Claire
Hangs Out in Kensington - 01/08/01 2001 |
|
Traffic
was brought to a standstill in Kensington High Street this morning
as Brookside and Celebrity Big Brother star Claire Sweeney was lowered
by a rope from the roof of Marks and Spencer.
Apparently she was meant to be abseiling but such was the incredibly
slow speed of her descent it looked to me as if she was being lowered
by a rope ...

BT EMMA Awards 2001-04/01 |
|
Last
month I attended a major star-studded event, the BT EMMA (Ethnic
Multicultural Media) Awards which took place at the plush Grovesner
House Hotel Park Lane. As I arrived, the paparazzi were concentrating
on Des'ree instead of me. I was in my element star spotting - the
first celebrity I came across was Vanessa Feltz who looked fab in
her glittery dress, she told me she was really looking forward to
the show. TV presenter and Robbie Williams' ex Tania Streacker walked
passed; "Oh my God, does she have legs to die for" was all I could
think as I craned my neck to look.

Wedding bells for author JK-14/05/01 |
|
Harry Potter mastermind JK Rowling looks
set to wed 29-year-old Dr Neil Murray, her love of less than a year,
while on a romantic holiday in South America. The millionaire author
and her seven-year-old daughter Jessica are joining Neil in the hot
summer sun in a few weeks, and friends believe she will wed before
returning to Britain. Before the two can tie the knot, Dr Neil must
finalise his divorce from university sweetheart and fellow doctor
Fiona Duncan. Those close to the couple believe that will soon be
resolved. The writer has pocketed £65-million from sales of the phenomenally
successful Harry Potter series and is likely to make an even more
magical sum when the first big screen adaptation hits cinemas this
November. JK was previously married to Portuguese journalist Jorge
Arantes, the father of her daughter, though the two separated after
just one year.

|
Princess Margaret is recovering in Kensington Palace

royal suffered a serious loss of appetite while staying at Sandringham,
the Queen's estate in Norfolk. She was also reported to be 'severely
depressed'. A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said: 'Princess Margaret

be some while before the extent of her recovery can be determined.
Her Royal Highness is remaining at Kensington Palace where nursing
care is being provided. The Queen is being kept closely informed
