James gets inspired - Oct 2 2007
James Blunt has apparently revealed that he went to Ibiza to get inspiration for his second album.
The hit singer, whose second LP All The Lost Souls, came out last month, says he had some memorable names party the night away at his pad on the Spanish isle.
The 33-year-old told the Daily Mirror: "All the top DJs in Ibiza have been in my basement.
"The cool people have all installed these amazing clubs in their homes, with incredible sound systems and lighting.
"I thought it was a brilliant idea - but I've just done the student thing, with a crappy set of decks. But it's pretty good and I've had a few memorable nights!"
But the hitmaker - who recently broke up with model Petra Nemcova - insists he was mixing with A-list stars long before his first album was released.
"Before Back To Bedlam I went out to the same clubs in Los Angeles and mixed with the same people, but it wasn't in the papers," he added. "Now it gets reported."
James drums up sales? - Sept 19 2007
His first album Back To Bedlam was a best-seller in 2005 - and it seems James Blunt is keen to match that success with sales of his next offering.
The crooner has apparently sent a tongue-in-cheek email to his family and pals urging them to buy his second album, according to The Sun.
He reportedly penned: "Dear friends and family. My second album comes out today. It’s called All The Lost Souls.
"If stuck for conversation at any point this week please tell whoever you’re next to that it’s a great album and they should get it.
"If you are attracted to them, suggest a trip to the record store together. If not, tell them it’s available at Amazon. Thanks very much. James."
The 33-year-old’s album is apparently heading straight to the top of the charts, after 37,000 copies were sold on the first day of sales.
James’s Spanish chat-up lines - Sept 11 2007
James Blunt has apparently been taking Spanish lessons - in an attempt to woo some Mediterranean beauties.
It seems the singer, who owns a luxury villa in Ibiza, only knows two phrases.
He told The Sun: "I can only say two things, ’Tienes un condon?’ and ’Cosquillee mis pelotas’. The first means ’Do you have a condom?’ and the second means ’Tickle my balls’." Nice.
And the 33-year-old - who recently broken up with Petra Nemcova - insists that he was mixing with A-list stars long before his first album was released.
"Before Back To Bedlam I went out to the same clubs in Los Angeles and mixed with the same people, but it wasn’t in the papers," he added.
"Now it gets reported. You read about this guy in the papers who happens to have the same name and looks like me, but I don’t think I’ve met him."
Grand price for Blunt’s piano - July 16 2007
A piano used by singer James Blunt to compose his smash hit You’re Beautiful has sold for over £1,000.
The old Chappell upright piano, which was once owned by the star, went under the hammer at Bonhams in central London.
It fetched £1,200, including buyer’s premiums, from an anonymous private buyer whose daughter is learning to play, a Bonham’s spokesperson said.

Within a year of leaving the army he had hooked up with songwriter Linda Perry, who signed James to her Custard record label. He recorded an album in LA whilst living in a house owned by Carrie Fisher and changed his name to Blunt. His debut single, High, however failed to find its way in to the Top 100 in the UK. His second single Wiseman peaked at Number 44. Undeterred he released You’re Beautiful, which climbed from a debut place at Number 12 to Number 1. This helped to send his album, Back to Bedlam to the album chart top spot. He followed his success by not only rereleasing his first two singles but releasing Goodbye My Lover, which has become a funeral favourite.
Blunt has become something of a figure of fun and several parodies of his songs have been performed while the NME named Back to Bedlam as Worst Album in their polls. However, he has received a number of accolades for his debut and is dating supermodel Petra Nemcova. So we don’t suppose he minds too much what a bunch of journalists have to say. So James, your songs are pretty pants...and those teeth!
