She’s out of fashion - 17/04/02
Lady Victoria Hervey’s business partner has terminated their relationship and brought the Lady’s latest venture into fashion retail to a sharp close. The 25-year-old twit girl had been employed as a consultant to upmarket Belgravia boutique Ajanta - owned by designer Sybil Stanislaus. Lady V’s credentials didn’t exactly look good from the start. She had previously owned Akademi, a boutique on the same site. After Akademi went bust the party loving posh totty was left owing £350,000. From the start Ms Stanislaus didn’t let Lady V’s original little mistake put her off: "I felt that she deserved a second chance after the failure of Akademi" she told today’s Evening Standard "and I was happy to help her get back on her feet. Unfortunately, things have not worked out as I would have wished." With her mounting bills for extravagant parties in lavish destinations highly publicised, it is little wonder that Ms Stanislaus decided to call it a day with the Chelsea dahrling. Lady V’s statement in reply was peacemaking and wishing Ajanta every success. It also added that she’d been in Los Angeles for some months "pursuing a number of new projects" and that some "opportunities" might well arise over there. Chelsea crosses its fingers in collective anticipation.
£11,000 owed and the crazy Chelsea girl just don’t care - 22/02/02
With her £11,000 25th birthday party debt still looming Chelsea’s Lady V just can’t stop the parties coming. Last night she threw another extravagant party to launch her Knightsbridge boutique Ajanta, which follows in the footsteps of Akademi, which went bust after 15 months owing £350,000. Her party at the Park Lane Hilton might have set her back £28,589 - of which she reportedly still owes £11,537 - but she told the Evening Standard: "Don’t worry, it’s all free this time." And we were really, really worried Lady Vulgar.
Lady V’s £11,000 party bill demanded - 21/02/02
Chelsea dahrling Lady Victoria Hervey won’t be forgetting her 25th birthday bash at the Park Lane Hilton, which took place over six months ago. Her ex-modelling agency, Next Models Management, certainly won’t let her forget. The agency has refused to pay the remaining £11,537, which her solicitors argue is liable for the cost of the bash. The agency denies responsibility. Guests at the lavish party included Andrew Neil, Petrina Khashoggi, Jemma Kidd, Natasha Caine, Jonathan Aitken’s daughter Alexandra, and Victoria’s sister, Lady Isabella Hervey. Lady Victoria maintained her London reputation with all the rudeness and snobbishness towards the staff that we’ve come to expect from the twit-girl. Lady Victoria’s legal defence is that her then-agent Next Models Management is responsible for the debt to the Hilton. Roger Cobden-Ramsay, of solicitors Radcliffe’s, which represents Lady Victoria, told the Evening Standard: "She does not owe the Hilton any money at all. It’s already been the subject of correspondence and she was not contractually bound to pay for that party. The agreement was between her agency and the Hilton. She did not sign the contract on her own behalf." Sunil Vermani, the financial controller of Next Models Management, said: "We were not involved in organising the event. As far as I’m concerned the matter is closed."
