Released on 20 November the album will feature hits such as Some Might Say, Acquiesce, Supersonic and The Importance of Being Idle as well as some carefully chosen album tracks and B-sides plus two new tracks, Boy With The Blues and Stop The Clocks.
Oasis are set to snub the upcoming Brit awards - Jan 10, 2021
Oasis are reportedly set to snub the upcoming Brit awards after they were left out of the top nominations. Noel and Liam Gallagher were allegedly so upset their album, ’Don’t Believe The Truth’, wasn’t nominated for the Best Album accolade they are set to boycott the prestigious ceremony next month.
A source is quoted in The Sun newspaper as saying: "Noel and Liam have no intention of turning up on the night. "They see it as a real snub to be overlooked for the category." The insider added: "It was a real kick in the teeth for Noel because he wanted to see Paul Weller pick up his Lifetime Achievement Award." The band is expected to be nominated in at least one category, rumoured to be Best Rock or Best Live Act, when the list is announced tonight (10.01.06), but it’s thought they will not attend because they have been left out of the major categories.
Oasis had previously been rumoured to be set to perform at the ceremony. Other stars believed to be appearing at the February 15 event, in London, include Madonna, recently reunited boy band Take That, Coldplay and US rapper Kanye West.
Liam Gallagher celebrates by threatening paparazzi Oct - 05
Liam Gallagher celebrated in style after Monday’s (10.10.05) Q awards - by threatening paparazzi with a metal pole. The Oasis frontman - whose band picked up two awards, including Best Album for ’Don’t Believe The Truth’, at the prestigious ceremony - was seen guzzling dozens of glasses of champagne at London’s trendy Met Bar before confronting the waiting shutterbugs outside.
Liam, famed for his wild temper, picked up the steel queue barrier and brandished it at several snappers before friends pulled him back inside the club.
Earlier in the day, Liam was seen chatting with John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono at the ceremony - organised by the respected music magazine. The Japanese artist was at the event to collect the Q Special Award on behalf of her late husband and had congratulated Oasis on their triumphs during her acceptance speech. After their chat, Liam - a self-confessed Beatles and Lennon obsessive - praised Yoko, saying: "I love this woman. I love Yoko. Every time I see her I just want to give her a hug and protect her."

This is probably because his older brother Noel was quite talented at playing the guitar and because they shared a bedroom, they often fought with each other. Liam quit school around the age of 14 and became a fence-painter. He was making about £100 a week while his former classmates stayed in school. Around the time when Liam was 19, he hooked up with an old school buddy named Paul McGuigan.
He found that Paul had a band that needed a vocalist, so he offered his services. When he joined, he changed the band’s name from "The Rain" (which was the name of a Beatles song) to "Oasis"; a name which he apparently saw on a poster in his bedroom. Liam also became the band’s song writer, along with Paul Arthurs (who was the also band’s guitarist). They only really rehearsed one day a week and didn’t get too many gigs. It was after one of their rare gigs, that Liam’s older brother Noel saw them perform. He said that their band was "utter shite" and said that he would join if he took over control of the band and wrote all of their songs. The band agreed and, well, the rest is history.
