It seems Lily Allen has finally decided to attend this year’s Brit Awards after a telling-off by her dad.

Apparently the Smile songstress was considering giving the awards a miss - because, despite four nominations, she was apparently worried she would walk away empty-handed.

According to The Sun, her actor dad told her: "It’s a once in a lifetime thing to be nominated for four Brits - you must go and have a good time."

Lily added: "I really was going to stay away from the Brits because as soon as the nominations came out, I knew I wouldn’t win anything.

"There’s the split vote thing going on when you are nominated in all those categories, but I think Amy Winehouse will win Best Female and I don’t think I will get anything.

"I’m away on tour during the week of the Brits so I thought I’d just stay away from it and not be a bad loser. But when my dad found out I wasn’t going, he went mad. He said it would be bad form.

"I tell you what, it comes to something when I’ve got to take etiquette lessons from my dad!"

It looks like Lily Allen and Hot Chip are joining the Arctic Monkeys and Bjork at Glastonbury this summer.

Both have dropped hints that they will play despite the founder of the festival, Michael Eavis, not releasing the full list.

Speaking at the Big Day Out festival in Australia, Lily told NME.com: "You can expect to see me there... I am supposedly playing."

Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard also told BBC 6 Music the five-piece would be appearing at Worthy Farm.

"I don’t know where or when, what stage or whatever... I can’t wait for it," he said.

Last week Michael confirmed that the Arctic Monkeys were headlining this year’s festival, which is awaiting a licence from the local council.

Michael also said that he had been contacted by the "biggest band in the world" for the event - which takes place from June 22 to June 24 - but said that it was not U2 or Coldplay.

It seems Lily Allen has put her partying days behind her - she admits she has been forced to calm down because of her career.

The outspoken 21-year-old, who has four nominations for next month’s Brit Awards, told Closer magazine: "I’ve had no option but to calm down because I’m working so hard all the time.

"That kind of scene doesn’t really appeal to me anyway. I just like hanging out with bands and stuff."

So does she regret speaking out about taking drugs in her past?

"I’m a middle class girl from London and I don’t know who hasn’t taken drugs," she said.

"If I hadn’t been honest about it, it wouldn’t have come out in the papers anyway."

The songstress thinks the scariest thing about fame is the paparazzi.

"They’re outside my house all the time and I have to keep my curtains drawn because my room looks out on the street - it’s annoying," she said.
