The distraught 21-year-old singer had offered a reward after her English bull terrier Maggie May was stolen from a friend’s van in east
"Maggie May is back at home safe and sound. She is riddled with fleas, a bit sad and very thin, but that’s not the point," she revealed on her MySpace blog.
"I can’t tell you how overjoyed I am to have her back."
Lily, daughter of actor Keith Allen, explained she had received a call from a man who said he didn’t want to return the dog, but he was persuaded by the reward.
Her friends visited him to make sure the dog was hers, then gave him the money.
"Once Maggie had been handed over, the young men and woman offered to sell more puppies to my friends which made us realise that these people were obviously in the business of moving dogs," Lily wrote.
"Now I feel guilty for having given these people money and contributing to their cruel business but I love that dog and felt I had no choice.
"This has been an awful experience and people who are accusing me of neglecting my dog in some way are distressing and hurtful."
The police and RSPCA are now involved.

With early dreams of pop stardom Lily was signed to Warner Bros in 2002 thanks, in no small part, to her father. However the partnership was short lived and in 2005 she signed to the lesser known Regal. Despite reported pressure to release pop songs she instead decided to release her tracks for free download on MySpace.com. It was through the website that she found fame, becoming a true internet star before even releasing a single. The buzz created though resulted in a rush release of LDN on limited edition 7" in early 2005.
In 2006 Lily released her debut album Alright, Still to critical and public acclaim, reaching number 2 in the UK charts. She also released Smile, the track which finally launched her in to the public’s conciousness. This was followed by a full re-release of LDN.
