Is Lily Allen starting a new fashion trend?

The outspoken Smile singer sported rather an unusual outfit when she performed at a recent gig - a dinosaur suit.

When brunette Lily found fame earlier this year, she was known for her trademark strapless prom dresses and scruffy old trainers.

But she unveiled her odd new look when she recorded tracks for Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley’s show while she was onboard her dad’s houseboat, according to the Daily Mirror.

Mouthy Lily, who is the daughter of actor Keith Allen, explained: "I got the dino suit in Tokyo. It is my favourite thing in the world."

Thankfully, the 21-year-old songstress was back to her stylish self later on when she arrived at a gig in Islington, London, for the charity Mencap.

Lily’s much-anticipated latest single, Littlest Things, is set to hit the shops on December 11.

Lily Allen is one of a host of music stars who have agreed to auction off shoes for charity.

The feisty songstress and other big names - including Coldplay, David Bowie, Johhny Marr, Nina Persson from The Cardigans, Tim Rice-Oxley from Keane and Beatles drummer Ringo Starr - have contributed trainers, high heels and boots to the online sale, says NME.com.

All proceeds will go to charity MAG (Mines Advisory Group), which takes a stand against the spread of small arms and light weapons in Africa.

Executive director Lou McGrath said: "The support from celebrities for the shoe auction has been fantastic and resulted in an impressive collection of footwear.

"The money raised will play a vital role in clearing the remnants of conflict, preventing injuries and deaths and regenerating communities. The money is especially needed for our work in Lebanon, where the UN estimates there are around 100,000 unexploded bombs at 359 separate sites."

It seems that Lily Allen has caught the eye of Chanel boss Karl Lagerfeld.

The top fashion designer invited the Smile singer to the Chanel headquarters in Paris, according to The Sun.

Karl is said to be convinced that Lily’s individual look of "chav meets couture" is the next big thing.

Lily reportedly visited the posh fashion house last month where she got access to all the latest stunning designs.

The pint-sized 21-year-old is famed for wearing ballgowns and training shoes on stage.

A fashion source told the paper: "Lily burst on to the scene as the Queen Of Chav with her trainers and huge gold earrings.

"So it’s hilarious she has been asked to work with Chanel, one of the most famous fashion houses in the world. But, like any girl, she loves high fashion."

Nothing has been set in stone yet, the insider added, but Karl believes Lily’s look will define 2007.
